I can stand next to you and drink a beer. Doesn't matter which way the wind is blowing, you will not injest the beer. Common sense is not so common. If anybody absolutely just has to smoke anything, stay the fuck away from people who aren't smoking.

I already addressed the second hand smoke. I get that it can be offensive. I certainly was not clear with my approach. All things being equal, (no noticeable smell or smoke. As mentioned pot has many different forms) I do not see a difference between public drinking or getting high in public.

I totally believe second hand smoke is life threatening, in a close environment from cigarettes. My boohoo wasn’t directed toward you, not looking to argue either. Just sharing my .02 from one of those damn snowflake millennial perspective ;)

Edit: marijuana is actually proven to dialate the lungs, smoked or eaten, in her case eating it could possibly help matters.
I am almost 10 years older, and I have seen the damage pot does too people. It is there choice, just don't do it around me. I really don't care what people do in thier homes. As long as they are not hurting anyone( else, I don't care if they hurt themselves) and not leaching off the system, do what ever floats your boat.

Funny thing, I don't drink. I only have too tell people once or twice and they stop offering me drinks. No matter how many times I tell a pot smoker I don't smoke, they still offer. I've known guys 20 years that still offer it too me.

So you just ignore that it's airborne. Brilliant! Neither are legal to consumed in public. Again, common sense aint so common.

The original point was regarding idiots actually smoking weed in public near a store entrance. If they had been eating a brownie we wouldn't be having this discussion.

I used to smoke pot allot....life everyday, but haven't touched it for over a year. Just got to the point where enough was enough with my kids getting older and I just didn't want to anymore and my wife preferred I stop, so I did. Feel so much better and glad I did.

Now as for other people I really don't care. None of my business and I do smell it out and about from time to time.

And to the people who say smokers can eat shit or stay at home until your sober....sorry guys your lame and out of touch with reality.

The reality is weed will be legal nation wide eventually so just come to terms with it. If you cant you should evaluate if you are appropriately placed where you live in society.
It stinks and offends my nasal passages, they don't like to be offended but its perfectly ok for them to offend others, fuck them, I'm going to start ripping huge smelly farts in restaurants, movie theaters, stores, etc..... and if one of those stinky ass fuckers says something I'll tell them fuck off.

I don't either, but at what point is some one intoxicated? Pot is an agricultural product. One flower to the next can have drasticly different thc levels, even from the same plant. It's not like booze, where manufactures keep things consistant.

Sure have. I willingly went to a venue where I knew people would be smoking and drinking all kinds of things. I wasn't walking my kids into a store.

So your friends smoke pot around you? [emoji849]

Funny thing is that this thread would never had been started if it was about a person drinking in front of a store. That has nothing to do with smell or smoke. As mentioned, I am strictly talking about the legality and perception between the two. They are both against the law but no one gives a shit about the guy drinking in public. At least it’s not interesting enough to post about.

I disagree. I think it ALL boils down to the means of injestion. You can ignore it if you need to for your argument here, but it doesn't change the reality of the issue. I'd say most people don't want other people smoking Tabacco near the entrance of a store either. Not saying one is better or worse in regards to affects on the person injesting it. It's about the people around them.

Not ignoring the means of ingestion and affects on those around. I took a 45 degree turn away from the original post and was attempting to compare (obviously I failed l at the attempt) the perception of drinking vs. getting high in public.

I get that. It's kind of hard to talk about it's perception in public without addressing the means by which people know you are using it in public... lol.

In regards to its use. IMHO I could care less if you or anybody uses drugs, alcohol, etc... as long as your choice and use does not effect those around you.

Btw, just to be THAT guy...... Pot still isnt LEGAL..... Its just decriminalized. If it was legal anybody no matter of age could go ans buy, posses, grow, and sell as much as they want. Similar to just about any produce. A 12 year old can walk into the store and buy 5 dozen apples if he has the money. Cause they are LEGAL, not de-criminalized.

So, about a year or more ago my wife and kids went to a wedding in Hollywood, our Hotel was within eyesight of Vine.

I go downstairs, off property, as no smoking cigarettes is permitted on the property.

I’m standing out there on the sidewalk, looking at the various stars and names.
There’s three black guys sitting/standing on the curb near a traffic light.
They’re playing dice. Money on the curb. They’re passing around a blunt, and a cop comes to a stop at the light.
Looks right at them and the situation.
Light turns green, he drives away:D

I was at the Greek Theater talking with the Cops about smoking in public, they said it's fine.. People 15 yards away from the Cops passing around a joint
Kind of weird to see people smoking in public. I do love the smell of good bud!

Years ago I was in a hotel on Maui standing on my Lanai looking at smokers regulated to the corner of the parking lot some 200 yards away from the hotel entrance and I thought to myself that an organzation needed to be started to show the hypocrisy of ostracizing people to that extent. I’m sure as many non smokers that were offended by cigarette smoke, there had to be just as many smokers that were offended by farts. The name of this fictitious organization that I thought should have been formed was S.A.F.E. Smokers Against Flagulent Expulsion.
