Is your grass Fescue?

If so, there is a fertilizer out there with Tremac. It kills all but Fescue. I use it. Works great

Most herbicide they sell at box stores suck. Go to like Ewings where they sell commercial stuff and have the knowledge to help you out. They have really good seed also

I get my pesticides online, do my own pest or something.. They are reasonably priced and helpful. I’m now fighting Bermuda grass.

Tough to get any real good Herbicides in Ca. I have to ship them to my AZ house. A lot are banned in Ca.

I’ve got a very funny story about that chemical I can’t tell on a public forum!

It also has a strong chemical smell.

Looks like Nut Sedge, Nut Grass, you can remove a stolen and ypu should have the nuts at the bottom like the picture shows.

I've used Atrazine which is not sold in Ca. works fn great. A more readily herbicide would be Manage, which is specific for Sedge grass.

I have a St Augustine lawn, my gardener uses a 26" 7 blade front throw that he leaves at my house because I'm the only one that requests it, We used to be able to by the Scotts weed and feed for southern lawns, but your 100% right Ca banned it, so I ship it to AZ. and bring it in, It kicks ass and does not screw with the St Augustine (it's so close to the broadleaves your trying to kill) also during the So Cal heat St Augustine will take plenty of water and I also use Ironite through the summer. you can almost hear it grow.

I spread Epsom Salts on my lawn today then sprayed Liquid Iron on it. 4 hours later it was a deep green. Then watered it all in. Going to fertilize it tomorrow and get some strong growth. Lawns are easy if you just know what to do and do it. I had a lot of clovers because I was in Havasu a lot this summer and neglected the lawn but I got it under control the last month and she’s purdy now.
I use Tenacity with Southern AG Surfactant for the clovers and Sledgehammer for the Crab grass

Is there anything that actually kills St. Augustine but not fescue? I have St. Augustine creeping in...I like it as I used to have but I have to save my lawn.
