A million dollars sounds like a ton of money. To some, it's a real, workable number. For me, it's still a theory, an imaginary number. All that sum of money does though is try to fill a hole left by the husbands' passing. I can't imagine it really changing anything.

I’m at a loss here. So now the family is suing the county for 20 million because their son was over worked because of mandatory overtime and he couldn’t have been alert enough to see the perp approaching his car? Nobody with 16 hours sleep could have been prepared for that.
So the 20 million now takes away from the counties ability to properly staff the department and puts current deputies in further danger. How is the family helping current officers?
Lastly for any LEO, if you’re killed on duty does the department have some sort of insurance for your family or do you rely on some type of life insurance?

I'm not "OK" with this and I'm disappointed that his family has chosen this route to bring awareness to his murder. I don't know the family or the murdered deputy, but I'm sure his family knew all about the Sheriff's Department and the manner in which they conduct business. Three generations should have given his mother plenty of history regarding their work requirements.

I'm sure nobody was complaining when this Deputy was receiving his payroll checks where he was compensated for his hard work. 🤷

Don't forget the democrats policies have made it harder to hire Officers/deputies as nobody wants to do that job anymore.

If this is what they are trying to expose then I'm all for exposing democrats for their failed and ineffective policies.

They didn’t complain about his overtime when he was alive
