Loading up on groceries and we’re burying ourselves in the condo as of 1 PM tomorrow for the next three days. Besides crab leg and steak, we have a few things to keep us in the right mood
Turns out a friend of our lives at the Marie Antoinette condominiums right at the corner of Kobal and Harmon. She’s on the fifth floor with a balcony and looks right at the paddock and the turn of the cars. She was kind enough to invite us for a homemade Italian dinner on Friday night for our challenge practice. Will be at our condo for the race on Saturday night.

My Vegas customers have reported room bookings are down from last year.
Economic impact is no where near last year’s race.
Hope that changes. I avoided visiting Caesars and PENN this week due to the race.

Do you think it's from the general economy woes, or due to proximity to the election? From what our RDP reporters showed last year, there was a ton of overseas money there. I don't know how the global economy is, but I can see well off people passing on this year because the shit show risk was high.

You have true fans this year.
Last year you had folks who wanted to attend becuase it was year 1.
While race track hotels are sold out, a large % of the others have rooms available. That was not the case, last year.

Last year was a big "look at me" event.

Command post is up, started sweeping the tunnels for bombs and bums

Then the day before there was a helicopter doing something interesting so I pulled up flight radar, and turns out this was doing a radiation sweep.

How screwed am I if I need to drive from Vegas to SoCal Sunday? Should be passing through Vegas around 6-8pm if I had to guess. Other option is going back Monday and passing through around noon.

Bizarre to me how Red Bull fell off so hard midway through the season. A bunch of easy 1-2 finishes and then Perez wasn’t even competitive and Max was fighting just to podium. Then McClaren becoming dominant and now Mercedes looking good again.
