Looking for something that has the ability to do the following;
Start out with 4 lights for 4 trees/bushes.
Has approximately 65 feet of flexible strip lighting.
Allows for additional lights to be added as more plantings get put in around the perimeter of the pool.
Can be hooked into the pool controller so it will have control.
For right now all I need is lot of wire so I can run it in the trenches and I can add everything later.

We have SPJ Lighting at both homes. Solid brass fixtures, high quality... check their website to see if they offer what you are searching for.

Use the dark sky lights they sell. Look nice and don't f up the night for those that hate yard lights.

Just putting it out there but I bought the solar powered lights at harbor freight with very low expectations..

These things have run flawlessly for about a year now.. they are cheap and they work well

#10 gauge direct burial Low Voltage Cable, in a continuous loop from point A --- Controller/Transformer Location, back to Point A. If there's much distance involved that configuration will provide least amount voltage drop.
With this type of cable as with most all two wire "Zip" type cord, the insulation for one conductor will be smooth, the edge of other has ridges, taking care to match these when you terminate at the transformer to prevent shorting them.

I used VOLT lighting for all the fixtures, up lighting for trees, spots, floods, paver lights, etc. They are solid brass fixtures with real glass lenses, and after 8 years in the desert sun and heat, they have never had a problem. I went with Super Bright LEDs for the transformer, which has also been flawless. Spend the money on good wire and waterproof connectors.

I've been looking at all of the above and was wondering if I could mix and match.

I have 2 Malibu transformers in the garage think they are 900 watt, one for frt yard and one for back yard

ran the brass lights been going Fantastic since 2016, use 12/2 wire,

come on at dusk go off 6 hrs later.

make a plan like phase 1,2,3 etc for expansion, want a flag pole someday - figure that into the mix.
adding lights is very easy if you planned for it

we drive in late and there’s still light on around the house - Love It

One 250 watt transformer use 2 watt led bulbs which are equivalent to a 20 watt bulb and your set

If doing strip lighting, make sure all your other fixtures on that line are led also, don’t mix

next led strip lights are limited on length of run, 24vt will double your lengths but have to be ran separate line ( usually 30ft range per connection ) if doing 12vt it’s easier to tie all together on single feed (but you will get closer to 15ft per connection)

We use corona lighting, some kichler, some fx, and aspect lighting for puck lights and led strips

Just curious…what occurs if strip lighting is mixed with led’s? Is it like non-dimmable led’s on a dimmer switch?

Depends, normally if you have led strip and led up lights. Ok
if you have led strip and say halogen up lights, or dimmable led with standard led you’ll know pretty quick the strip will typically Blink at a rate that you eye can see, or just not come on at all.
Also note led is + - specific, many guys think they can connect same as old school lights with clip and go and didn’t matter. Led if wrong dont work
