We started watching Lioness. I remember watching some of it when it first came out and I was kind'a like, "meh, chicks doing teams work...Lame." And thought it was gonna be like other kinda cheesy primetime TV shows....After people talking it up on this thread I started watching it. DAYUM! It's a great fuckin' show. My wife calls ParamountTV "TSTV" because all Taylor Sheridan's shit is on there :D. I gotta say, I dig his writing style. Dudes got a knack for awesome dialog. I truly enjoy good banter and dialog in movies / TV. Probably my most favorite part of the process. And he's got a really good grasp on the way politics work behind the scenes of special teams and projects. Great show. Half way through season 2.

I'm trying to like this series but it's taken me three tries to get to the 30 minute mark of Episode 1, when does it start getting good?

I said the same thing. After episode 2 it
seems to get its footing. It’s not landman but better than most of the dribble out there. But they’ll need to step up for season 2 to not get repetitive.
Maybe clandestine into Mexico?

Starting to think TS has alotta help writing Lioness. Some of Morgan Freeman dialogue scenes contain incredible information on what going on in the world. I watch this series and appreciate the accuracy of the script, this series not history, all of it going on today.
Entertaining but looking like a deliberate effort to inform us what going on in real time.

I haven’t read the whole thread but the language is less than desirable for me to watch. It doesn’t make the show any better. And i have to watch my language on a daily basis.

Flo racing interviewed the scrawny kid who plays Billy Bob's son walking around the pits at the Chili Bowl couple weeks ago.
Turns out the kids an old long time dirt track racer.
Really down to earth kid and he looked like he just came from working in an oil field from Landman.
He's authentic for that role.

Lioness....

I caught an episode on Showtime randomly one afternoon (season 2). A couple chicks were about to start a scissor session and the wife walked in - Figured she'd puke on the show based on that alone, but I finished the episode and it was damn good.

A couple weeks later I found it on Paramount plus so knowing that was a good episode it wasn't difficult to get through the first show. We watched both seasons over a couple of days. Wife loved it.

It's funny - When I started watching Eastbound and Down years ago she came out of the bathroom bitching about how bad the language was so I turned on my ignore the wife switch and left it on for a couple episodes while she laid in bed with me knowing she didn't have much of a choice but to watch it. I couldn't get her to turn it off after that. Let's watch one more episode before we go to sleep - I'm like it's 3am and we gotta be up at 6.

I get that a lot - Cursing, they showed a tit this show is disgusting, let's watch something else. I end up usually telling her it's just a TV show. who cares. Most of the time she ends up liking it. Breaking Bad/Sapranos were a couple other ones - Didn't like it based on what she heard, but after sitting down and watching for a bit was hooked. Sunday nights she would remind it was time for The Sapranos to start again and buy the HBO package just to watch new episodes, and got hooked on Entourage during the process.
