Hello inmates, after a long and tedious 16 month search of overbidding and still getting blown out of the water by all cash offers, here is the new digs. I know I may not be ballin' by any means, but I managed to get a place with a 2 car garage attached that can house the chevelle and be the new cornhole board factory. The association even has boat and RV storage, its outdoor so I think I will be keeping my nice indoor in Parker, but its nice in case I need to bring it back to work on. Ceilings, paint, and floors are all happening in the next week or so, after that is done I will put some pics up of the inside, but here is the outside at least.

It's a little tough out there right now. Crazy bidding and lots of cash buyers. I don't know how we ended up getting ours. Sometimes you just get lucky. I already have my agent trying to get us to sell it. He thinks we can make $100k off it already and we've only been here for about 6 months.

It's too bad that I still need a place to live, just during escrow, two identical models have sold for 40k more than I paid. Its still nuts out there, and I paid too much. At least I am riding with the market now, one way or another. One of the first properties I bid and lost on last year listed for 190k, sold for 220k, has flipped two times so far, and now is up again at 350k. Crazy times.

Same here. I'd do it but would be worried about finding something else. I don't think it would be easy. I just saw a dump down the street sell for just about what we paid. Kind of a good feeling.

To be honest, yes, each one I have done is the real key, saving that huge down payment came from the fact all my walk around money for food, drinks, gas for the cars and boat, daily bs, is purely money from making stupid boards, a few bucks at a time, a few sets a month, and I was able to put 80% of my paycheck into savings. Now with these pending expenses, I will need some orders more than ever :) Thank you to everyone that "chipped in" for this and helping me make this happen, seriously, thank you.

Congrats. What city did you buy in. Yorba Linda?

Speaking of corn hole boards I showed my buddy your work. He wants a price on a Jack Daniels game. He has the boards already. Can you use his or do you start with brand new wood. You can PM me the price if you like.

Moving from Yorba Linda to Brea actually, gonna miss my town, but the price point was a factor. I will PM you about the boards. Thanks for the congrats and the referral.

Congrats on the new digs!!
Values are going up quickly, and yes, making the right offer quickly seems to be the key.
My place has gone up 60% in two years. I could make a couple bucks, but I love it here and want to stay.
My place is strange, a 2500sqf + 1100sqf 3-1/2 car garage, on 1.25 acre - but, only a 2 bed, 1 and 1/2 bath.
But, I am on the side of a mountain, and have a view of the entire valley lights to the West at night.

I know I may not be ballin' by any means, but I live in the richest city in america!

Not a baller? :hmm When do you pick up your new Schiada? :D

Is the house of Valley View?

"Yorba Linda is often identified as the richest city in the U.S. by the U.S. Census Bureau that shows a median household income of $121,075, higher than any other city in 2006." :thumbsup

My dad's a baller then :D This one is in Brea, my parents house and also our first house are both within a mile of yorba linda and valley view. And to the comment about the axle bearings if I am interpreting it right, it may be a condo, but its certainly not a mobile home ;) And being the son of a rich guy means nothing, especially if you drive a jet boat and your house shares a wall. The chevelle is pretty legit though if I am honest.

Higher than Rancho Santa Fe, Montecito and Upland?

I read it on the internet so it must be true! :D

"Don't bother counting Beemers and Range Rovers. Don't even look for the priciest houses.
America's highest-income city is Yorba Linda."

"So says the U.S. Census Bureau, which reported that Yorba Linda had the highest median household income among more than 500 U.S. cities in 2006. Newport Beach, traditionally considered Orange County's wealthiest, ranked third."

"While Newport Beach has many apartments, "Yorba Linda had the policy of not being friendly to townhomes and apartments," said Esmael Adibi, director of the A. Gary Anderson Center for Economic Research at Chapman University. "If you have lots of apartments and townhomes your median (income) is not going to be as high."
