Seems like every year 😞.

When I first went to lakefront 12 years ago I rented a 65’ unit. I think I was paying about $275 or 285 for it. Now I’m paying that for the 40’ unit. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I am sure if you let it go they have a wait list 6 pages long for an even higher price. Havasu is crashing though is what some guys on RDP told me, so the choice is yours.

can you share some of that storage 411 On the havasu storage market?

you can PM me

Sorry if this is thread jacking… but what is the average rate in town for a 30’ or 40’ unit? We are at the end of the 95/40 and pay 325 for a 30’, but it has a 10 ft door. The gate has been wide open for a few months as well. I am going to cancel in October and bring the boat home for winter and hopefully find a better storage unit in March. We are on a monthly contract.

The Islander went up again this summer also. I think around 10% if I recall.

im in parker, but i went up $25 a month for a 35 footer. im strangely ok with it after hearing what some are paying for a unit, and ive been there 3 years without an increase. id hate to find another spot, i can back my 26' pontoon straight in, nothing infront of me but street, and with the 16' tall door i dont have to drop the bimini on the toon. and pay a year at time and they nock 1 month of the total.

Get on the lists now! You dont want to be scrambling when spring comes. There is NO availability as usual.

So glad I purchased in 2015. Best 40k I spent.
The annual rental increases were nuts. Started at 165 in 2007, by 2014 it was 285 and I was told 2 additional increases were planned to get to 350 by 2015.
You should have sold the house and bought every last one lol

I am so indroctinated to Florida boat storage prices, that this thread almost seems unbelievable.

I cannot believe how cheap the storage rates are in this thread. Almost FREE, compared to where I live.

A 12x40 would easily go for $1200 here. There would be a waiting list too!

Want a in-water boat slip for your 30’ boat……. That cost is approaching $1500 per month

Most storage places increase at around 5% a year...more than that and they are trying to push certain clientele out.

Havasu while having a metric shit ton of units...still doesn't have enough bigger units... I was recently in a "new" on on the Southside, doors that didn't stay up, one that only goes up two thirds of the way, other issues like roof leaks etc...it was a huge unit, but big bucks and for being like a year old the roof leaked...

I'd never move out of one unit without having one lined up in its place....most everywhere has wait lists..back when I had my hands in one we had 10-20 people at any given time on a waitlist and never had one open more than 24 hours in 7 years.

You guys that are paying under $300 a month for 40’ storage must have been there a while?
Last year right before I moved everything from my 35’ storage into the new house I was paying $400 near Kiowa/Empire around the corner from Mudsharks.

I’m going to shop around to get on a few lists in town to see if anyone has month to month as well. The narrow door and angle we have sucks. The storage unit we are at has a few units available still, but know that may change quickly as well. Thankfully we have a garage in chino that has room to store it if we can’t get storage in the summer months and just have to deal with towing. Just can’t justify paying all winter for storage with the dirt hobbies as well.

The long term plan is to expand my dads boat garage in havasu. Thinking that may cost 25k plus with how construction rates are going. We just need 9 more feet for both boats to fit, but will probably expand it to the longest the city will allow us to.

Rumor is, they will be going up again in April 2024.
Know a few folks that are looking into alternatives (but island options are zero).

I think the month to month will be really tough, and I imagine that you would pay a premium for it. where im at they shortest term they will is 6 months with no price break. Im on a yearly with them and only pay for 11 months. its not much but it helps.

Whats the going rates for "warehouse style" indoor storage in Havasu now days? Non-climate controlled, just a regular warehouse where they pull it out and put it away for you

friend of mine is paying $10 per foot. they measure from the tongue of the trailer to the furthest point back, he pulls his swimstep everytime and puts it in the boat. saves him $30 a month.

That’s cheep! I was desperate when I sold my house, needed storage. I pay $428 a month for a 40 at super storage on Kiowa, for the last 3 going on 4 years.
Damn… that’s a lot. Most of the guys I know are paying around the same as I am, and Lakefront is a very nice place.

yes, its a older tournament boat, 2 cotter pins and pull the pins. he would love to get it out of there. he pays more than i do for my 35' unit, and they told him dont leave ANYTHING in the boat, they will not be responsible for it, and it his trailer has a couple new scratches on it. on top of that he has to call 24 hours ahead of time and they give him a pick up window. if after 5pm or before 8 am they just leave it outside.

Oh hell no. I would be furious. He needs his own smaller unit.

been telling him that for 2 years, hes been looking but cant find one. on multiple lists. i told him quit calling and go knock on doors. i got lucky when i got mine, i was standing in the office as someone was signing out of theirs, and said ill pay for a year right now. the lady said perfect, ill take your money today over calling the wait list. felt kind of bad about jumping the line, but sometimes right place, right time just works out.
