3585 feet today.

Time to go again, gonna be a little less water in the cut this trip. Thinking we will have to go out of Antelope Point by the time our following trip comes.

We only used the cut one time this summer on a return trip. Going around again this weekend. I like the channel as part of the journey anyway.

Used the cut today. Had a depth reading at 2.3 feet once. We done with that for this season.

So rad! That location is on our bucket list. Need more gas to make it there from Antelope!
It's worth it. One of the few epic canyons up there with a couple small beaches. Water was just covering the weir that forces you to run through the famously pictured chicane. We'll go back again for sure. Bought that boat because it was available at the time and checked a few of my Powell necessity boxes after not owning one for 13yrs. I have a few complaints with the Baja but reality is we're seeing more lake than ever before with it. It gets a crazy 1.8-2mpg keeping at a 35mph cruise. We run around 200mi a weekend without worry.

All good things come to an end.....

For those without FB, the infamous Hole in the Rock in Rock Creek is no longer. The front part and/or bridge, if you will, fell into the water.

Can you go up the lake to Oak Canyon or the San Juan arm with Dangling Rope closed? We used to love Oak Canyon, but we always ran to Dangling Rope every few days for ice, beer, ice cream and fuel. And we usually had to fuel up the houseboat for the trip back.

Oak canyon is about my end point if I plan accordingly. I carry 100 gallons of fuel and get about 1.25 mpg. But I can’t mess around much. Oak Canyon had lost all of the big sandy beaches when I was there last year, so no longer a destination for us.

Yep. Only a few decent spots in Oak at current water level and they have a houseboat already on them every time we roll through.

It must be tough without Dangling Rope, if you want to go up the lake.

I think a couple of the big house boats use them as tenders with a captain. @Nanu/Nanu knows the guys…
Unfortunately i do not know the Captain for this axopar. I know the Captain who runs the axopar thats attached to Crystal Angel. I think theres 3 or 4 axopars running around Powell now.

he connected me with one of them last year. 🙏

This boat and crew even do charters.
I think most of them that have dedicated captains do the charters on the tenders in the downtime. Helps with boating costs if you're entertaining clients if you catch my drift.

Mid 80s all this past week
Gas is 3.59-3.89 in town
Windy in the afternoon but has been letting up
Walmart Rv invasion in full swing

Heading out n the water for a shake down run after a lot of service on both screws.

How do you get up the lake with out Dangling Rope? That used to be our 2nd day stop going up the towards Oak Canjon. For fuel, ice, and beer Great ice cream cones. Do they have a fuel barge somewhere?

It seems we were running out fuel and ice and beer.

Without DR, oak is about my limit… I can make a little bit of ice but not enough for coolers

The Axopar in pic is Bob with Up Lake Adventures. Does jetski fishing guides also. He's always on the water.
Check out the website for rates for a day on that Axopar.

I was a bit surprised (I shouldn't have been, cuz I know they say about a dozen now) at how many Axopars I saw on the lake over the last weekend. 👀

He might have been very surprised at having us circle around him in the back of Cathedral Canyon (his guests had just gotten into a kayak to go deeper into the canyon), however it was only minutes later 4 DCB's were all up in that tight space with him too. 🙂
