I don’t think Dangling rope will ever “reopen” in the same way. All the docks and buildings were hauled off and destroyed, so any future mid lake fueling statuon will most like be a whole new project. Figure a federal project that a couple of rednecks could do for a million costing 10s of millions on a govt contract. Couple years of environmental impact studies and multiple engineering solutions etc…

No matter what solution they could come up with someone is going to piss and moan.

It’s not ADA compliant
I can’t fuel my 90 foot houseboat with a 24 foot beam.
What do you mean you don’t accept discover card
I don’t like the size of the ice cubes you sell here…

Everyone longs for the good old days and this is like the good old days… I tend to think it keeps the traffic down mid lake but who knows?

We are excited to come up again this year, got my slips lined up and boat storage for in between trips. Lets do this!

This year's goal will be to get my wife to Rainbow Bridge. I am gonna have to carry some extra gas, just not sure yet how much.

Here we go, waters coming!

Here is a good baseline to measure what we gain soon. The last few days have all shown a slight increase. 4/17/24, 3558.21feet.

Rainbow bridge isn’t that far… what’s your range and how much gas do you need?

Our first trip out will be the first week of June.
We have Powell Obsession slipped at Wahweap and it sure would be nice if the cut is open and deep enough for houseboats by then.
I'm not all that optimistic though.

New boat, I don't have any real numbers yet. Tank is 50 gallons.

I sure do miss Dangling Rope!
What size motor? I have a 50ish gallon tank to. If i start out full i dont need my spare ten gallons but if we mess around or go other places i usually have to use my spares. Or i hit up antelope on the way back. I always carry 10 gallons on board but have rarely needed them.

I have a carb 454 and our wieght is 500 lbs in human flesh 300lbs in dog fur. Sand toys and all sorts of tools parts and most importantly beverages.

And obviously the 10 gallons of spare gas.

I went to the mouth of the Ranibow Bridge entrance last year (1st week of June) and there was a ton of log debris. We decided against going to the bridge, but are hoping to this year if it's not too bad debris wise.

Mercury 350 V10 Verado. We prolly only talking about 10 extra gallons also as an insurance policy.

What hull is it on? We just got a new 400 V10 on a 21' and I am blown away with the fuel economy if you are not running hard. 50 and under we are 4 to 4.5 miles to the gallon. Running at 70 puts it at 3 or just below.

New Bennington, sweet spot is around 45mph. I was after the 400 also but found what we were looking for with the 350 already on it and called it good ✅

OK, in a pontoon I would take more fuel as well! But I bet you are more than fine. From memory I think it is only a 90 mile or so round trip from Antelope.

Ten days later and here we go! 😃 4/28/24. 3559.19 feet.

Still about 20 feet down from last time I was there in Sept '23. We really hope to see close to 3600feet this summer. 🤞

We were there on Wednesday. Lone Rock and Waweap. Took some friends who had never been to Powell. Day trip from Sand Hollow. Ate lunch at Antelope Marina. Always a good stop. Water so low only cart rides from the parking lot.
