A lot of lakes here in Cali need this water bad. Nice to see Naci water level going in the right direction!

how is the lake formed? is it going to fill in the spring with the snow runoff??

I dont think there is really any snow run-off feeding that lake. I think its just primarily water run-off from the surrounding mountains. When the water is really high you can go WAY back up the Narrows and find some INCREDIBLE water falls and stuff back there!

Using percentages is deceiving when talking about Naci. When most people feel it is full or almost full, it is only about 2/3rds. Absolute full is at 800'. At 772' which gives you nice beaches and a full appearing lake, it is only at 62% full. I rely more upon the elevation. What is going to be interesting is they say they are going to allow it to fill up (if it can) and keep it closer to full. In the past they never let it get above 780' until the end of winter. When the lake is full half the lower campgrounds and both Heritage and Oak Shores ramps are under water.

Right now both Heritage and Oak Shores ramps are usable again. I am still betting on 745 by tomorrow morning.

40,000 acre feet of water gained in 5 days with 5 inches of rain. Totally amazing. That is half the size of Lake Piru.

Bring on the rain!!! :party::party2:

So.... You see the lake as half empty? I prefer to see the lake as half full!

Completely agree. I actually dont really like the lake all that much when its super full. Its nice to see it that high but, there are no beaches and there are some hidden trees and cow fences that are just barely underwater.

Either way though, Im SUPER optimistic about this summer!!
