We ate out a lot last week.
Cha-Bones took the prize for best meal and service. We ate at Foundry as well, and it would not be the top of my list for a meal out with friends, but we will give it another chance. We also ate at Dolce, and it was a close second to Cha-Bones, but my steak was better at Cha-Bones.

It's funny, most of our friends in Havasu love Cha-Bones. Roxy and I have been 5-6 time's and the food and service have been mediocre at best.

We've been to the Foundry three times and they were all 9+ experiences.

La Vita Dolce is our favorite restaurant in Havasu, especially when Arlo is our waiter.

La Vita Dolce is my favorite place, but we like Marios and Angelina's also.

We don't have any Italian places in our hometown in Montana; we have to drive an hour for it, so we try and fill up in winter.

Since you said nice setting, my suggestion would be Reflections Steakhouse at Iron Wolfe (The Refuge). It's an intimate setting with a great view of the lake/upper river. They do not have crab legs, but my ribeye was perfect. There is also a great bar (Bogies and stogies) that over looks the lake as well if you want to go early and have a drink. I took my wife there for her birthday in August and made a reservation early explaining it was her birthday and wanted a table with a view and they did awesome with a great table and little table sign wishing her a happy birthday. The food is great and you can't beat the view in Havasu. I would suggest a reservation time where you can enjoy the view before sunset.

I’d fuel up and make the drive to Las Vegas. Get a good meal and take in a show.

Montanas steakhouse is a good steak. Little dated inside but the steaks have always been great. They might have crab legs during king crab season.

Thanks for the replies....She wants to boat to Papa Leones for lunch, sandbar & the gorge, bbq on the beach (rig parked last 2 sites on water @ Black Meadow) when we get back. Thats a win for me too!
Those last 2 spots on the water (up lake) at BML are great. It's not unusual to see beaver, the 4 legged variety, at that spot. Believe they live in the reeds right around the point.

My wife and I took our daughter out for a birthday dinner at a local steakhouse called Trulucks. It's pretty high end. Their specialties are steak and seafood. I think my daughter was maybe 16 or 18, so it was kinda special. The waitress suggested she have the crab legs.

Go ahead, its your birthday. Waitress says like two pounds is what she orders. LOL. These giant legs show up and are hanging off the plate. My kids eats one... I know that its gonna cost a fortune. My daughter has no clue.

The bill comes and her crab plate was like $180 or something silly. I think my girl learned her lesson. Total bill was $400 ish. Of course I paid, but I made sure she was aware of the costs. She's pretty darn frugal now. Seems like that life lesson paid off.

What was the name of the steak place south of town on 95 where a heavy set guy with a ciggie in his mouth cooked steaks in the back corner. You usually got a few ashes....no charge. 😁

I've been hearing a few downhill complaints about Cha-Bones' food & drinks since the internal changes.🤷‍♂️
Funny you say that about Cha Bones. I took my dad there about a month ago. We had a reservation, but the hostess manager acted like we were bothering her when we showed up. He said it was better when I took him there about a year ago. We also went to El Parisio and he said he would rather go there any day.

We haven’t been in there the last couple trips. Hope they didn’t screw up the happy hour/app menu. It’s one of my favorite things in Havasu.

The hostess always cracks me up @Cobalt232. It’s definitely a soup nazi vibe on reservations. Place can be empty and they’ll act like they’re doing you a favor.

Happy hour is still the best in town
Their dinners suck
We have friends that want to buy us dinner at cha bones, no thanks
Recently went to Shugrues, it was ok
Going back to Iron Wolf tonight
With restaurant prices and quality of food I can eat like a king at home

Shugrues is usually pretty spot on, but I guess everyone can have a bad experience somewhere.

I’ve had Foundry twice and it wasn’t good, last time the food was bad, service was bad, that’s probably my last trip there.

Funny you say that about El Paridiso. RDP has never seemed to like El Paridiso but we love it. It might be because we usually have three of their flaming margaritas before appetizers even arrive but we always have good fuzzy memories of the food the next day.

Havasu can't handle this task, but Parker can! If you want good steak and crab legs, go to Willows at the Bluewater Casino!

That sucks. Been there once and it was really good. Service was excellent. Food was good. Maybe it was because i had my fancy date night collared shirt on. 😁.

A booth and dinner at La Vita Dolce has been our solid many years. Excellent, friendly service. The food has remained steady and very good. Must admit, we were disappointed when they stepped away from fresh white linen table cloths and napkins, plus unlimited hot fresh garlic bread. That was years ago. For Havasu, that was definitely a cut above. Their fillet has always been good. Dolce remains our go to place.

Yep… last time we went a few months ago. A lot of things have changed and not for the better. Asked for the usual Chabones martini, and nobody knew what that was, said they’d never heard of it.. odd, we’ve been drinking them here for the last 10 years 🙄🤷🏻‍♂️

Foundry was another disappointment. We only went once, shortly after they opened. Figure they need some time and we’ll give it another shot.

Cha Bones has been pretty consistent for us and we haven’t noticed any major issues. The hostess is weird but we go there enough she knows us. We were just there two weeks ago.

For Italian I prefer Angelina’s over Dolce.

For all the time going to Havasu never tried Shugrues. Haven’t tried Foundry since it changed from Mudsharks. Now I think I want to try the place at the Refuge.

Rods Homestead, best steaks ever in Havasu, sure miss that place.
YES !!
Ordered a steak medium rare, came still cold in the middle. Asked to warm it up a bit. Came back medium well, Rod glaring at me, waitress said I wouldn't complain again....lol, folks I was with all laughed out loud. 😂

He could be a little gruff, but a good guy. After he died, Colleen a long-time waitress ran the place for Rod's wife I believe. Colleen cooked and I thought she was basically just as good as Rod, but business slowly failed after a few years.:( They were also known for the smokey baked potatoes.👍

I always thought Rod was part of the ambience of Homestead. Sitting over the grill in view of the customers. with a ciggie hanging out his mouth. Was in there many times between mid 90's to mid 2000's. Liked Montanas steakhouse too. 👍
