Mayor is live now. Wow what a ass clown. Not sure I've seen her before.

Made a statement about the beef between her and fire chief lady

Why even bring it up? She is preoccupied with her reputation.

Pacific Palisades is a heavily Democratic area, and Democrats tend to win the majority of the vote in each election.

In the 2024 presidential election, of the 11,151 votes cast from the five voting precincts that largely constitute the Palisades (9005918A, 9005919A, 9005929A, 9001382A, 9007693D), 71.17% went for Kamala Harris, while Donald Trump and RFK Jr. received just 27.75% and 1.08% of the Palisadian vote, respectively.
They'll never learn;)
Excellent info,Thanks

Watched the press conference on ktla. Why could you not hear the press questions? At least we would know if the questions were being answered.

They had the opportunity to vote for one of their neighbors as LA city mayor. Rick Caruso. And they didn’t.
I’m sorry for their losses, but they got what they voted for.

Firefighters wife just posted this on her feed. Cut the budget. We need to cut there jobs for cutting the budget. View attachment 1468462
Wow, how is it an organization as large as LAFD cannot support one stations needs? What an embarrassment to have the firefighters wives out soliciting donations from citizens.
I would assume they have a Union and working conditions are a part of their priorities 🤷🏼‍♂️

Oh ya, and by the way Caruso used to be head of DWP.

As long as the people who made these decisions and voted for this STAY in California it's all cool.

Could this had been avoided with prescribed burns and fire breaks BEFORE the fire? Or did those lines get over run?

Forgive my ignorance. Was the transvestite chief born a man or woman? And is it currently a man or referred to as a it? Hard keeping up since I don't own a TV.

That's a loaded question.

Prescribed burns do reduce potential fuel loads, but they have to be done consistently so you are only burning off small amounts of fuel that result between burns and not letting it build up.

The problem now with prescribed burns is they've neglected doing it for such a long time and now you have unnormal amounts of fuel just sitting there. Now its tough to do a prescribed burn without losing control over it. So now they're scared to do them and they don't. Then you get these epic firestorms.

This is the same problem with forest management. They've stopped doing any kind of fuel management ad now its hard to restart it.

Fire is natural in CA, and elsewhere. Its part of the ecosystem. Fires that happen need to be allowed to burn. However people hate fire and think its bad and it needs to be put out. So natural processes suffer.

Obviously structure protection should happen if fire occurs, but when its not to threatening structures it should be allowed to burn itself out.

But again people intervene because burn scars are ugly and people don't want to look at that so again, fire=bad.

People thinking they are in control of mother nature. Mother nature will fight back to get back to its equilibrium. Always has, always will

At this point people are just asking for stuff, not saying there isn't a need but the department definitely has the resources to fulfill these requests

Love this...

I have worked with guys just like DT, leaders of national commercial construction developers. They are smart MF's and get shit done and are not afraid to upset the apple cart. So many of todays elected leaders are flat out pussies. They don't know how the blocking and tackling / basics of what is required of their position, and the goals do not align with the foundation of their newfound responsibilities. How these people feel empowered to assume control of such positions of authority with no concept of the basic requirements of responsibility dumbfounds me.

Is the argument that if the Governor, Mayor and Fire Chief were different people that there would not have been a fire?

Or that the Governor, Fire Chief and Mayor prevented the fire department from extinguishing the fire?

Im pretty sure whoever would have been in charge was fucked by this event.

You constantly post the same rhetoric no matter the issue.
The people responsible for this disaster have not performed their responsibilities because not one of those leaders qualified in anyway.
We have witnessed a total Leadership breakdown in Southern California.

That is my basic experience with government regardless of who is in charge.

Neither competent nor prepared.

No where NEAR the level of these imbeciles in California except for maybe the Bush administration with Katrina.

We'll leave that little gem of an incident out, because anyone with half a brain KNOWS that was allowed to proceed.
