I knew this was coming, but the vote officially came thru yesterday - The LACBOS voted 4-1 enabling the board to terminate county / city employees without the need to go thru respective department heads. Alot of LEO / Fire / County jobs on the line.

I can't believe this is pushing forward given the recent absolute FAILURE of the vax in the recent Omicron wave that we just passed thru.

The LA county board of supervisors thinks it saved you from certain death.

I am not the least bit surprised. I could be wrong here, but doesn't this mean they can now bypass the Sheriff and utilize the Human Resources department to discipline people, in cases where the Sheriff refuses to do so? I thought that's how it was explained back in March. 🤷‍♂️

Correct. It's the LA County Director of Personnel (Human Resources) that will have the power to fire the Sheriff Deputies, not the Board of Supervisors. This thread title is misleading. But it was a big FU to Villanueva by the BOS.

In a perfect world.....this process would work quite well. In the world we actually live in, it's simply a pause in the process that many times, has already been predetermined..... JMHO.

I don't know what is in California Laws or Constitution, but this was tried in AZ a few decades ago.

In Apache County, the Board of Supervisors and the Sheriff (Brian Hounshell) were at odds. A Sheriff's Commander violated directions by discussing an interview he had with a County Manager hired investigator, who was looking into possible overtime irregularities, with the Sheriff. The Board then directed the County Manager to suspend the Commander. The Sheriff refused to allow the Manager to suspend the Commander claiming that, as Sheriff (an elected Office), only HE had the authority to impose discipline on employees that HE (Sheriff) appointed and directly supervised.

After bouncing back and forth in court, the AZ Supreme Court ruled that the Sheriff is correct. And that applied to any employees, appointed by an Elected Official. While the County Supervisors had to "approve" the hiring of any employees, in the case of employees appointed by and under Elected Officials, that approval only applied to determining that the position was available and funds for their salary, et al, was available. Since only the "appointing official" had the ability to discipline those employees. The "chain of command" ended at the Elected Official, in this case, the Sheriff.

Perhaps California law has something similar, as this is pretty standard operations in most states. But then again, it's California.

The LA County Sheriff is the Highest Legal Authority (per the US Constitution) / Even over a Federal Judge in his respected County !
The LA District Attourney knows this & the Board of Supervisors have been informed ! When this goes up to the California Supreme Court / LA County will be making huge contributions for Backpay and reinstatements......😎

The only way communism can grow is by punishing the dissenters. We are seeing things happen that seem to be the case.

I'm angry at the fuktards that voted for this, and the fuktards that voted for them. I'm really worried, and saddened for those effected, not just those who's jobs are at risk, but their families as well.

That's what I meant. The BOS voted to make it happen

I was kinda wondering about that. How can vote for oneself To obtain more power?
Along the lines of how they can vote to give themselves more money..... That is on the books at least. Doesnt cover all the backdoor deals they make.

All because they want to mandate a "vaccine" for a virus from two years ago. There is zero logic in this, just political power at play. They want to make all county departments their bitches like they have effectively done to the LAPD. Pretty sure they legally cannot simply vote amongst the 5 of them to change state charters, but we will see.

If they lose deps due to this he'll have to empty the jails and reassign those reps to patrol to fulfill obligations.

42 cities have a contract with LASD for services and he must fill those positions.

Emptying the jails will be a big FU to the BOS but the libs will probably embrace it until they or somebody they know becomes a victim

As far as LACo Fire ???? Brown outs like LAFD is doing now???? LAFD is 250 bodies short daily with random station brown outs

So yore saying stay out of LA if we come visit?
No, still visit if you have reason. Just be on your toes if you were in an area that you should have been anyway...any place near south central for instance.

Oh, and bring your body armor ;)

I'd rather be alone for life than wake up next to one of these liberal clowns.

I'd actually rather do anything other than think of these women naked. Id eat gas station sushi, French kiss a rattle snake, have a drink a Bill Cosby, or let Casey Anthony watch my kids.
