Anyone order cabinet doors online?

We are keeping the cabinet boxes during our kitchen remodel, but want to update the doors. Should be easy to order since I've got the measurement of the existing doors.

Local cabinet companies only want to do the full cabinets and not door only.

Lots of variables there.
Overlay of the existing, vs new, hinge placement, etc. Sounds like a clusterfuck.

Overlay would how much the door over laps the opening. Dictated by the hinge. Theres lots of different dimensions available..

Of course it is a cluster fuck... I'm involved.

Still, I'm saving 5 figures here by not buying new boxes. That is a lot of pain and suffering.

Not sure what is local to you but Decorative Specialties in Irwandale and Monrovia has a good system. If you choose to do new boxes they also have a RTA system where you get the cabinets already milled, finished, and pallatized to where you just screw them together they even include the hardware. Makes it more cost effective for the DIY type.

We purchase all of our doors only from them and we do 1200- 1500 residential homes a year.

I considered this but found I didn't save enough to justify it, so I ended up just stripping and refinishing mine since I just wanted to sell the house.

I have a buddy that does cabinets and when we redid our kitchen in the old house we just ordered doors since the cabinet face frames and shelves were solid as a rock built in 1953.

Was waaaaay cheaper than doing full cabinets. He ordered the doors from Cal Door and had them drop shipped. I had a guy come out and paint them all before I hung them. Let me know if you need contact info, he's down in San Felipe racing this weekend.

SJ are you looking to just order doors and install yourself or looking for someone to do it? I have some contractor contacts in Naperville, St. Charles and Barrington.

I order my doors thru corona millworks. I just give them the opening size and they size the door for the correct overlay.

I am a cabinet manufacturer that 95% of our business is new home construction. We manufacture all of our cabinets in our facility but out source our doors.

Cappos Carpentry out of McHenry is where I’d start if the Job is on the smaller side. Tom the owner operator is one of the best carpenters I’ve ever seen and he is very reasonable for his services. He has around 30 years in the biz. 847 456 4756


Great Haven Builders out of Barrington do beautiful work and have a very distinguished clientele list. Greg the owner is a super down to earth guy, a genuinely nice guy. 847 401 3825. This option may be a bit spendy though.
