Yep, I would be in. RD should put a trip together, there's plenty of us out west that would meet up there. You should organize an RDP event.
Pismo is a cool place if your primary goal isn't just riding. It's fairly small. I can ride the perimeter on a quad in about 20 minutes, lol.
It's a great place to head in July or August to escape the heat. Do a little riding, fishing, family fun stuff. It's typically low to mid 70s.
Bring WD40, shit rusts overnight there!
It's definitely a place that shows you where your machine needs attention, lacks any paint or has any raw bare metal anywhere.

That's about the only thing I miss about living in AG. Used to go out on the beach at least once a week. Good fun and great entertainment.

I loved camping in Pismo.
The dunes were decent but pretty small. Being on the beach more than made up for it.
I didn't like doing everything possible to prevent rust, while watching shit rust anyway almost immediately.
And the crowds could be awful, just like anywhere else (glamis, ocotillo, havasu) on a busy weekend I suppose.
Great memories for sure.

This is correct. I lived in Grover Beach and Arroyo Grande for about a year and a half before moving to Nacimiento. I hated how packed the five cities is (Pismo, Arroyo Grande, Grover Beach, Oceano, and Shell Beach), but I did love being so close to the dunes and Avila Beach.I’m guessing Arroyo Grande. City inland from Pismo

I was born and raised in Burbank, went to PCC, and worked in Baldwin Park my entire life til almost 6 years ago. I'm VERY familiar with how crowded it is down there. The 5 cities was too similar in that regard for me.You hated how packed that area was??? I live in the San Gabriel Valley. I’ll take those 5 cities any day of the week. Like I said...every time I go up there it’s harder to leave.

Thanks! You have to go during the week in order to avoid the Raider trash now.Great video, brings back memories. Growing up we used to go up there several times a year to ride our ATC's. Then once I got my license I spent many weekends throughout highschool going up there to ride, go wheeling in our trucks and camping on the beach. I used to love going up there but it sure has changed. I went up there a few years ago and was amazed at how much was closed also amazed at the people who camp out there- lots of Raider Nation everywhere.

I believe I had stock good years on mine?Problem - the new truck is a Dually, 4x4 but stock tires. Anyone ever take a 4wd dually to pismo? Does airing down even help when you have rock hard narrow load range E tires?

Jockos in nippomo not far well worth it. Spencer Ribeye! Have a great trip!Heading up tomorrow. Staying at Oceano campground. Breaking in our new trailer. Wife b day on Wednesday. Looking for a steakhouse. Any ideas?
Camp at the campground off beach no problem. Just watch the tide daily as you enter google creek crossing Pismo to see what to avoid. Pismo is really cool. We go there a couple times a year. There is a lot to do in the general area (SLO). GiGi likes staying at the Madonna Inn. It is pretty chatski but you have to make everyone happy. As stated by others, you cover Pismo pretty quick. Camping on the beach is a must do. I rode a standup ski there one year just to do it. The water was very cold.

Nice pic. Which Raptor is yours? (What lights behind the grill - Baja Designs? And what about the lights in the bumper openings?)

Did I ever tell you about the time I hydrolocked the 460 in my old dually crossing the creek?Hearing everyones stories and seeing some pictures makes me want to head back, great memories!!
Definitely don't worry about the creek this year unless it's this weekend. We're supposed to get a descent sized storm Thursday through Friday which MIGHT swell the creek. There ain't shit getting to the ocean now from Lopez and that's where that creek runs from.Camp at the campground off beach no problem. Good times.
My sons mother lived in Santa Maria so usually every time I picked him up we camped and rode the dunes. One trip I brought up the JS too, surfed for a few hours with it as well. Memorable trip for me cause even my parents swung by there while on their own camping trip.Pismo is really cool. We go there a couple times a year. There is a lot to do in the general area (SLO). That'd be fun!We should do an RDP pismo run
Old Juan's is awesome. Pretty legit Mexican food. Perfect for all the Central valley crowd that comes over every weekend.Does the guy still drive around the camps selling shirts? Just finished dinner and drinks at old Juans cantina. Good chili colorado and walking distance to camp.
I don’t remember that but the guy that pulled my ford had a big 6x6 3 axle military something or other. Had a snorkel intake, and the truck was tall as shit. The creek would have to be 12+ foot deep with incoming swell to stop him. He wouldn’t be able to breath before the truck wouldn’t, lol.Anyone remember the pizza delivery guy/ tow truck guy? He had a big yellow truck? Is he still around?
