Only 30 Days until Hammertown opens and the Head Honcho confirmed some details that are not on any schedules or media.

"Opening Saturday is Dueling Pianos and a Country Cover band.
Wednesday is Spray Allen (Sublime's Eric Wilson's band) and Sublime with Rome.**
Last Saturday is our new 'house band' Hammer of the Oz and Pennywise.**
**= Not a cover band, the real deal.

No extra costs to watch the shows. $40 for the week.
VP is selling race and 91 onsite out of the pump and Oak Hills Brewery will be selling ice and beer just inside the welcome gate."

Looks like I am heading out Friday the 28 until Monday the 31st.
Buddy is racing Saturday in class 11 and Sunday in T2.

@Deckin Around - I will ping you when I get back from Breckenridge next week about camping at your place for 2 rigs (mine / your old trailer and a buddies RV). We are pending notification if we have to help pit the 2 races. If we pit, we will camp closer to HT. Buddy racing is camping inside HT.

Our group will be there starting Wednesday the 26th. I have been to every race, except last year.

I’ll be heading out Friday too, but sounds like my koh group has other plans this year so the wife and I will be going solo.

This event has gotten so big. I remember the first couple years when it was still in it's infancy. We had an over cab camper and a Jeep. Nights are damn cold. A member here was actually one of the creators of it. So we got some advance notice about the event before it became big. I have been multiple times. I remember watching Jessi Combs come rolling into the finish line when she won, and chatting with Pistol Pete Sohren. (RIP to both of them).

Last year was insane, I can't believe it has gotten so huge. I went as a guest and got to ride in Outcoled's Baja bug. Good times for sure.

If you can go... GO! The vehicles are over the top amazing. The vibe is cool and there's a ton of vendors and different things to see every day. Take plenty of firewood, food and drinks. There's not much nearby to restock with. A dust mask is advisable as it can get really dusty. Park upwind if you can.

Haven’t been in a few years but the racing is cool to watch for sure. It’s always a good time out there. 100% on dust masks. Also bring a pair of goggles. It’s not a question of if it will get windy in Johnson Valley, it’s just a question of when!!

Yeah don’t run out of beer or supplies out there. The nearest convenience store is 20 miles one way and will take forever to get there with all the traffic. Don’t ask how I know, lol.

Also when finding a camp spot always try to head in going down hill direction if camping away from the dust bowl. A lot of the area out there is very deceiving on how much sand can accumulate. Pulling an RV from a dead stop going uphill in sand is a sure way to get stuck. Also always bring (2) tow straps capable of pulling yore vehicle and towable. I got stuck there once and it took (2) 3/4 trucks to get my Dually and 40’ Toyhauler unstuck 😱
