Where would you go for the best quality and price?

To bring home and eat/cook. NOT to go out to dinner. 😝

Thanks!

Costco, just did some last weekend little spendy though 39..99 lb but damn they were good plus it was our 33rd anniversary so had to splurge a little.
Do you know how many burgers one can get for that price at MickyD's!!!!! Having spent 25 years on the Oregon Coast I'd rather eat Dungeness crab.

Water Grill is hands down the best place to go out. You get to pick it out of a tank. Frozen/thawed isn’t the same after. I’d see if they’ll sell you some fresh stuff. Believe they’re a actually seafood distributor. Worth a shot.

Sheeeush.. oregon coast is closed and Dungeness crab is TERRIBLE..lol!!

They need to stick to their King Crab!😳

I think we are making a run in the next few weeks to Charleston to go crabbing!!

Funny thing is I dont eat the shit at all.. I love crabbing, I'll cook them, clean them and drink beers while everyone else(especially my wife) eat them!!

Growing up with my family running the port of Charleston and running the fish plant, I ate entirely too much of that shit as a kid when that's "what for dinner" every night, a pile of crab, bread rolls, a cocktail fork and a bowl of garlic butter. I just cant bring myself to eat it anymore. But my wife will devour that shit till its gone🤣

In all honesty, if you are interested, I can probably have Dungeness or king crab ship to you directly off the boat. Next day air in dry ice. Basically from boat to you. Let me know if you are interested and I'll find out what the cost is for what you want. Oysters, fish, crab, ect.. I can have shipped to your door out of Charleston to your door next day!

We went to our Costco in Corona and they had some ridiculous sized crab legs. I’m talking mini baseball bat sized MFers 😂

Years ago a friend of a friend brought some from Alaska in a suitcase full of dry ice. He said he got some crazy looks picking up his smoking bag at baggage claim.
They were the size of my wife's forearm. Barely could fit them.into.my turkey fryer pot to boil them.

Not going to help on your question, but just reminiscing since you brought it up, Captain Jacks in Sunset Beach was always our go to for King Crab back in the day, great food and great service.

Still is. My friend is the bartender and manager, he's been there over 40 years. Captain Jacks is the largest buyer (restaurant, obviously they don't come close to costco) of King Crab west of the Mississippi!

Not crab legs but I remember when I was young (lol 45years ago). My dad and a friend had live lobster delivered in big 50 gallon blue drums to the house. Wish I could find some pics of them sprawling around the driveway before they went for their final swim.

Just got word from my buddy.. king crab is a "no go". But Dungeness, as much as you want. He is "hunting"(to you city folk, yes he is killing animals to eat) right now but will be back on the 11th and willing to fill orders at that time! Crab, shrimp, fish, oysters, ect...

Growing up on the SoCal coast my wife and I enjoyed King Crab at many restaurants, including Capt Jacks, my young wife’s favorite . Jacks was outstanding and affordable. Our go to place after skiing at Marine Stadium. So, fast forward and we’d just moved to Louisiana. Not by choice, totally work related. We go to a recommended sea food restaurant, my wife orders crab. She was used to Alaskan King Crab legs. Our Louisiana waitress asked, “Honey, how many crab would you like?” My wife nearly fell over. Then asked me, “How the hell do they expect me to eat more than one entire crab??!!” Too funny, we’ll never forget it. Recall, I ordered a dozen that night, which further amazed my wife! Very good and memorable times.

Ate a lot of crabs out of that place over the years and another favorite was the cockles up past Englund Marine under the bridge to the first turn. Got those limits and then out to the horse neck sand to get all yucky in the mud digging those big suckers.

I have no idea. I know I'm allergic enough to them that just touching them makes my fingers swell.

On second thought, let me know what you find out. I may have to get some and stuff em down my pants.

Haven't been to Captain Jacks in ages. Took my mom and dad there for her birthday when they were both still alive.

I think that was the last time I went. My kids weren't even born yet, and my son is 23 now?

Been awhile. Great place. 👍🏼
