I know you’ve mentioned in the past you’re a fan of the 3600 SC before. I am leaning more and more towards one. Any suggestions on things to look for or ones to stay away from?

There are only 2 or 3 boats that I did not buy over the years that I really kick myself for not buy, and one of them is the all red 3600 that’s around Havasu still. Preston had it, I looked 3 times and didn’t pull the trigger.

JUUUSST in case you forgot, you may have a friend that actually has one...?! I've read every post on the interwebz conceivable and have had my nose in every crevasse of mine so I may know a little.

I don't have any specific knowledge on what to or not to look for. They're known to be heavy and not as fast as other cats in their class. They do have a porpoise to drive through but what non pod cat doesn't? They're comfy, cool little cabin, stable and predictable. I watched @Bling Bling run his from channel islands harbor to santa barbara in LEGIT 6 foot swell and wind chop a bunch of years ago. Garnered my respect for that boat on the spot. Great boat. Haven't heard of any build issues or things to "look for" just what I mentioned above. Nor-Tech is a solid company and build great boats. Hope you pick one up. Buddy from Chicago just sold his flat deck cig (it's coming to Ca) and put a deposit on a 3600 this week.

Did a trip with a buddy almost 30 years ago. 30 Eliminator Eagle with twins. Bad ass looking boat. My takeaway after that trip was the bigger boats were great for cruising. But what a pain in the ass for getting in and out of. You beach them and the bow is chest high. The stern is 30’ out in the deep water.

Guess I’m more interested in seeing what Dave buys after this new one goes down the road. Hard to beat a deck or pontoon with a family in tow.

I aways laugh when I see big vee's beached and the people are trapped in the boat. Either jump off the front bare footed or going for a swim.

You realize I had my Schiada for like ten years..
I had the one 270 for three or four years.. my pontoon for two years.. there was just a few that went through pretty quick..

Honestly if my first 270 sold I’d probably still own that 340 or the straight bottom 270 that I had..
both of those were perfect tens.. or close to it.

This one is a perfect ten as well.. so unless there’s some giant opportunity where someone wants it more than me it’s not going anywhere..

That said I’m not married to any possessions in my life other than my machines.. and maybe a couple of my guns.

I never understand why people won’t throw an anchor and tie the stern towards the beach?

It’s not that much effort if you plan on hanging for a few hours.

With a closed bow large boat it’s a pain in the ass, and you need a couple of guys to actually pull it off..

Guys like me that usually have the wife and kids.. it’s a lot of work. I’d rather bring a step

RD, I have one of these boarding platforms from Slide Anchor that I use sometimes. It hangs off of a side cleat using a dockline and works OK to get on and off the boat while beached. It's not the ultimate solution, but better than dragging a step ladder on and off the boat. Most of the time we will just beach the bow and then go on and off the boat from the transom.

Always looking for options to ease jumping up on the bow for people. We have a little collapsible step stool we use now but the legs sink on the sand so doesn’t work great all The time.

Not mine, but another 34 Shockwave with 575s is listed for sale cheap, like $65k. It's the boat that Barry from Shockwave built for himself, and then he ended up selling it to one of his friends who I believe is in Havasu now.

At one point I thought about selling my boat and downsizing, but the $$ doesn't make sense to me so I keep doing things to make mine more lake friendly. I added a giant swim step a few years back that is great. DCB took care of a few maintenance items a few weeks back, new tires on the trailer, and a few other things for the trailer next week and I'll be all set for this season.

I don't see it on the slide anchor website, so maybe they don't make them anymore? It might be worthwhile to give them a call. I will say the boarding step is better than a step ladder or stool, but it's not 100% stable since it is hanging off of a cleat using a dockline.

That’s the way we roll.

Lessons learned about beaching boats: grinding the hull on the beach and taking rollers over the back just beat the boat up.

Point it out and it can ride out an afternoon thunderstorm if the anchors are solid and it’s semi protected by the cove you pick.

That's one of the most beautiful and proportionately sized boats ever produced. Everything about it looks good! The length, the proportions of the bow, cockpit and engine compartment, the rake of the windshield, the stance of the hull when floating...... Its such a stunning boat!

You can make anything possible. Change the mindset from never to how do I make this happen. Grind until your dream is a reality.

It needs new teak but the boat is well kept.
