Why would they offer a million on him
If they had nothing to hide ??

Using drones on US soil for somebody
That killed three?

Smells like tuna in LA

Just wondering from a few comments I saw on local news websites.... Was a man that looked like Dorner shot and killed in Big Bear?

If there was....I hope it was him and not some innocent look-a-like shot by trigger happy cops.

I still can't get over the shots on that truck with the ladies delivering papers. I went to a conceal carry class today and saw three ladies in their late 70's shoot a tighter pattern than that!:thumbsdown

Nobody will ever see a million if they turn him in, they'd flip the script and end up having the DA prosecute em for obstruction of justice, harboring a wanted a fugitive, etc, etc, etc. and then the million dollar reward would become a million dollar liability of legal fees to clear their name..... ;)

But yeah, who the hell is the mayor of a broke ass city, in a broke ass state, to be offering up a million bucks in the first place.....

Yeah, donated by the tax payers. That mayor is such a worthless camera stalking idiot.

True, and notice how the Mayor says "Groups led by MY office" offer the reward.

One thing I don't get is why this guy left a manifesto. Seems if a criminal wanted to carry out a plan the less clues anyone had on what he was doing the more successful he'd be. Naming all those he wanted to harm just made it that much more difficult for him to harm them. While I'm glad he did leave the clues, from a criminal point of view I just don't get doing that and tipping his hand on his plan. Only thing I can come up with is he's an attention whore (which may lead to his plan failure).

Thoughts?

I'll play along.

I agree.

People are taking his versions of events as the truth. I call bullshit.

In the end, the guy is a megalomaniac douche; unable to get along with anybody and everybody no matter where he is at, as evidenced by his past failed relationships. Clearly he would find problems in any workplace environment; he's THAT "life" customer who cannot be appeased.

Who goes thru life thinking THEY are the one who will end a human trait that has existed since caveman days? Was he that naive not to understand the "Good Ole Boys Club" exists at every workplace...at every government office, everywhere in the WORLD?

Most of us experience prejudice, discrimination or corruption during our lifetimes. It's called life. A regular person, such as you and I, recognizes these speed bumps and we navigate thru, or around these conflicts - we don't go out and kill people in retalaition for being wronged.

The guy knows right from wrong, but has chosen to ignore these values that everybody else lives by. So, no mental illness, get-out-of-jail-card for this piece of trash.

F* his cause and all the bleeding hearts who foolishly are buying into his game. Don't be duped by this piece of crap. :swear

Perfectly said C-2, this is spot on IMO.

I'm having a hard time believing a cat like this is able to elude this manhunt. I think he may have swallowed a bullet or is holed up somewhere, completely off the radar. Wherever he is, they will need to find him dead or alive. The stress on these families will take its toll and for that reason, they will need to produce a body eventually.

Not sure who you all feel about this but...

http://m.now.msn.com/christopher-dor...get-on-us-soil

Fugitive alleged LAPD-killer is first drone target on U.S. soil

It's official: The drone war has come home to America. Wanted fugitive Christopher Dorner, the homicidal former cop currently at war with the LAPD, has become the first known human target for airborne drones on U.S. soil. Their use was confirmed by Customs and Border Patrol spokesman Ralph DeSio, who revealed the government's fear that Dorner will make a dash for the Mexican border. The fugitive has already killed three people, according to police, and has a $1 million bounty on his head. Dorner, who has military training, is believed to be hiding in the wilderness of California's San Bernardino Mountains, where locating him without air support may be all but impossible.

I tell you how I feel about it... it fuckin' pisses me off.

We are supposed to have due proccess of law and the gaurentees as provided by the Constitution in this country. I mean WTF. This guy probably deserves to ride the needle (if he already isn't dead which is where my money is), but how about we go about it like we should and not start flying armed Predators over the LA basin looking for him?

And if we can acertain his location and confirm his identity before a drone strike, why not go in there and arrest him if possible?

We won't discuss the possibility of an incorrect ID and a drone strike on an innocent civilian. Or colateral damage from a strike on his location.

I think he wrote the manifesto with details of who he is going after to strike fear into the officers and their families. Hopefully he does not kill anyone else and they find him soon.

Re drones: My guess IF they're used it would be for ID and not sending a Hellfire missile into some public area. Probably surveillance, to find and capture, would be my guess.

I have a tough time believing everything the media reports.

If he ties up a bunch of extra LE resources providing security for a long list of people, there is that much less to track him.... misdirection maybe.... all part of his plan.

He probably just wants to terrify people with the exception of the three he killed. Sounds like a narcissistic ass! We've all had shit happen to us, it's how we chose to get out from under the BS that defines our character!

LowerRiver2 and BoatPI:

Thank you for giving us the perspective from actual LAPD past and present. Your versions of his past match what I'm hearing from my LAPD friends that knew him. Didn't think it was my place to elaborate on the issues so I'm glad you guys did. Hopefully it offers insight to those who seem to think this guy has any credibility with his drama.

There are plenty of guys in Los Angeles that have killed way more then this guy.. Watching the full scale tactical attempted take down here is raising more then a few eyebrows.. Drones shouldn't be used on our own citizens regardless of the problem.. I have a lot that I could say about that but ultimately understand I turned down a lot of money because i flat refused to help prototype one that's specific purpose was to watch citizens ( blimp)... Some other guys I know refused as well.

50 LAPD officers and families related have protection. this person does have access to a heavy //high caliber weapon in particular. I cannot post what is here, those in law enforcement know what it is.

No one protecting most of us/or me except one very protective Mrs. LR that has / handles her own AR:thumbup:

According to ABC news:

" Wherever Dorner is, law enforcement officials fear that he may be heavily armed, possibly with a powerful .50 caliber rifle, which shoots five-inch long bullets that can pierce bullet proof vests and vehicles, as well as a shoulder-fired missile launcher."

I don't disagree with you Dave on drones. Our liberties are on a slippery slope across the board and the gun control efforts seem to have triggered a ramp up, or at least a ramp up awareness on both sides of the issue. I was only saying that if drones are deployed (and I've heard they are being built) my guess would be for live video feed and not launching missiles and the like. However with the current government climate nothing would come to me as a big surprise. Big brother needs a good strong straight jacket, but like drones, that isn't a topic for expansion within this thread.

Anyone with some money can get access to any type of firearm they can afford.

That's what I was wondering if it was given to him because if his military/police careers or if they were illegal. Thanks!

What he has for weapons are NOT illegal in Nevada as he is a resident. In FACT you can buy these from person to private person, or from an individual at a Nevada gun show WITHOUT any background check. It would be a private person sale, not involving a FFL dealer.

Illegal. From what I've seen he wasn't part of any special ops. He never got off probation in LAPD. Trainee is going to have a Glock or maybe a 92FS at that time. And just because you're in the military doesn't mean you get all kinds of cool stuff.

1st somebody has to be the cook or the janitor in the military, meaning not everybody is in a combat position. Someone rocking a 50 cal would have to be a sniper or something like that. 2nd military weapons are checked in and out of the armory. You don't take them home with you.

You can buy them legally.

I guess even if he was required to go through a background check it doesn't include a psychiatric evaluation.

I just hope he doesn't hurt anyone else and the families as well as our LAPD officers are safe. How are they expected to do their selfless jobs when they have to worry about protecting their own families?

I'm pretty sure I would get hate mail and death threats if I made the "we have to stick together" comment in regards to this guy. So I will save it. :D

This thread needs humor.

Homeland Security has been using drones for a while now. We were "asked" to come over to there pier when we came back from fishing in Mexican waters last Summer. They were asking where we went while they had 6 guys inspecting the sport fisher. I rolled over to the GPS to show them our track and the lead guy laughed as he told me they already knew...

No doubt - gotta love the ABILITY of the US Govt! ...But this seems to be a little different in that Homeland (ie Customs) was enforcing Customs Laws perhaps - not conducting routine inland surveillance not related to border security....

Oh I agree. They were very professional. I'd rather they check a lot more people out. My friends go out quite a bit so it was just a matter of time before they were inspected, again.

Was there or was there not a misidentified man shot in Big Bear looking for Dorner?
Just wondering?
