My son is 4 and has been on a suzuki 50 for two years. I've taken it to the mechanic and had them do everything possible to make it fast but the dam thing just has no balls in the sand. It does fine in the flats but any hill we hit the thing just literally stops moving. So as we are getting ready for a ride last trip my son is doing some laps while waiting for us. He rides up to me and says "dad my quad just isnt fast enough, i need to go faster". My son honestly rips and is a great rider and has great throttle control. I tell him fine go ride the suzuki 80 and see if you can fit and handle it. To my surprise he calls my bluff and gets on it and starts ripping. I ended up letting him take it on the ride and he killed it. He never missed a beat on it and it was so nice not having to get off and push him up every hill. The suzuki 80 was a bike we have for the adults to ride around with the kids so it was nothing special. Now that its going to be my sons I have to do it up and make it bitchin for him. I dropped it off at the mechanic this week for a tune up and ordered a bunch of new parts for it. Any body have experience with these and know what the must have parts are? Heres a list of what I have coming so far

New Bars (current bars are bent)
New heel guards (currently missing)
New blue plastics
New custom sticker kit
New FMF Exhaust
New black powdercoated wheels
New LED light bar
LED Whip off of his 50

I'm wanting to do something for the suspension too just not sure which route to go. Theres some better china shocks on ebay or I can bite the bullet and buy Elka shocks, any one have experience with either shocks? Any other parts I'm missing? he will be on this quad for a while so I'm not worried about throwing some money at it

We bought a 50 from fct. Kids loves it but also wanted more. I just bought a 80 from nicpaus and I’m going to look at a 250 this weekend. That’s all I got 😂😂

Hell Yeah! He is kicking ass.

Throw some C12 in it and jet the carb to the exhaust see how it does. If he needs more power might need to do a motor swap as he doesn't look big enough for the next size up machine.

lol it never ends. We just picked up another LT80 so the adults have a quad to chase the kids on. Seems every time I buy a bike I have to buy 2

The new exhaust should be here this week so I'm going to run it over and have the mechanic throw it on and re jet the carb for it. This one should have plenty of power for him for at least a few years. He's a whole 35lbs so the bike doesn't even know hes on it yet lol

My youngest Nephew just turned 4. They have been taking him to the BMX track with his brother. But I don't think he has been on the electric dirt bike or stacyc yet. He is really coordinated so should be good on it.

I got them 2 Raptor 80 quads and 6 small dirt bikes. No room to store 2 quads so sold 1 to Vic.

Trying to make it out president weekend and see if he can handle the ttr50 or quad. I will tell my sister to throw him on the electric dirt bike this week and get him some practice.

My son started on a strider at like 1 and was on a stacyc at the track by 2. Its amazing how fast kids these days are picking it up and start ripping, He will be killing it in no time.

The stacyc was honestly great for my son to start on. I was able to limit the speed and he learned throttle control from there. The quad was a simple transition for him since he understood the basics

Ct racing pipe does better than the FMF. But does it really matter just for a kids camp bike. Ct also has shocks, kits to widen the front, etc.
Midwest minis also has quite a bit of parts for them. Clutching makes a huge difference. Google Jack Moore LT80 and read all his different posts. My kids 80 is a little ripper. Many have gone over backwards.

Honda 250s are a great quad for kids. It has a sports clutch, use or don't. Greatest way for them to lean to use a clutch.
A 400EX will be the next step!

We went form a 50 to a 250ex sport clutch. Daughter couldn’t be happier. She is 11. Didn’t want to waste the money on a 110 just for her to out grow it in a season so we kept her on the 50 a little longer.

Twins lt80s were little rippers. One had Fox Shocks front and rear with longer a-arms, wheel spacers in the rear, full nerf bars. Jack Moore National Motors, which doubled the rpms and 2x horse power. They are bad ass motors. Reliable.
He mills the head, ports the carb, port and polish the cylinder, ports the reed cage and bores out the cylinder, lightened clutch weights. All kinds of tricks.
It's been awhile, but I think they were about $1300ish per motor build. One was a little less built. Went balls out on the other.
Doing it again. I would start with the suspension kit then send the entire motor to Jack Moore to have him put it together with all the goodies at one time.

I think it's 04 and newer lt50s are complete dogs. 03 and older can be made a little quicker for free.. There's a couple restrictor plates that can be pulled. You can port and bore the little 50s too.
Fastest lt50 in camp was an 84.
The twins 03s.
