Can someone give me a basic rundown on the difference between my xr and crf?
The 50's? I don't think there is a difference. If there is, the CRF is the more sporty of the two with lower handlebars and different plastics. My buddy actually has one that he would sell, but it's been sitting for a while. The XR 50 has tall bars and more standard type plastics.

I'm just here to vote Honda and Yamaha also. Most of these I recently got rid of when my kids outgrew. You can NEVER have enough mini-bikes😄 I'm looking for another fat tire BW 80 to put an electric start 140cc motor in.

If you don't get crf/xr 70s,80, or 100s there is a big jump to the 110. My knees can't hang on 50's anymore. If you want to ride the bike, I love my CRF110. Electric start with efi is the only way to pitbike. My wife's CRF125 behind ot with a clutch is no fun when you can't hold a drink and putt around.

Dude, everytime I see a BW200 or BW350 come up for sale, its everything in my power to not buy it… It would be garage art, because I probably wouldnt ride it much. LOL… Love the Big Wheel bikes… Brings back alot of stupid knucklehead memories of me and my buddy’s doing the most stupid shit imagineable on a BW200… Who could jump it the highest, the furthest… etc etc etc..

There is absolutely no difference mechanically, the only difference is in the plastics, mainly the older style xr's have a one piece rear plastic set that included the number plates versus the crf's have separate rear fender and number plates....all parts from the two, including the plastics i just mentioned, are interchangeable....

I know I said to maybe skip the 50's and jump into a 70 or a 100....
That being said, I have a Suzuki Jr50 oil burner that will probably be going up for sale real soon if anyone has any interest.

XR50 = CRF50
XR70 = CRF70
XR80/100 = CRF80/100

CRF80/100 replaced by CRF125F (electric start, front disc brake, bigger engine, comes in small wheel or big wheel, same general size/weight)
CRF70 was replaced with CRF110 (electric start, fuel injection, bigger engine, alum frame, same general size/weight)

Honestly… when they first changed from XR to CRF… The graphics are the only thing that changed…

Part for part, model for model, same bike… just changed the name/graphics.

Then new models came out with different engine sizes and the CRF graphics…

No the 125f replaced the 150f made 2003-2017
the CRF 100 f was 2004-2013. The 110 replaced that in 2013
There was no replacement for the 70/80. That's why I said it's a big jump from the 50 to the 110. Honda is missing a bike for kids in that range.

CRF100 had a clutch and big wheels. CRF110 has auto and same size wheels as a XR70.

But yes I did skip the CRF150/230 generation. I almost consider them XR200 replacements.

And I classify kids bike by wheel size/seat height, and clutch vs auto. I don't really consider engine size when comparing kids bikes.

You can swap one of these Piranha engines in a 50 or 70. (The engine mounts are the same and motors can be interchanged on the 50/70). You just need a small battery somewhere for the electric start

Those motors get great reviews and I'll fab one into a bw 80 like this one I sold during covid$. The women LOVE riding the fattys.

OR, I am putting a bigwheel kit on my 110 if I find $3k:

Here you go. Hopefully you can see the add. Do it.

@NicPaus get this thing before I do 😄 😄

I just saw that post yesterday, I always laugh when people have vehicles for sale, and they are ringing the piss out of the motor, or have a sxs seat deep in water....those are not selling points imo....

Totally agree. I was going to look at a clean used Polaris Ranger until I asked about some brackets in pics and the guy told me he had left the mounts for the snow plow on it.... and then sent me a pic in the snow pushing a pile.

I don’t think anything. I think they just changed the name in 2004 or something. I could always be wrong. Consult your dirt bike expert.

What's the best OTD pricing on a new crf110 or crf125 that people have gotten?

They quoted $4100 otd at Anderson in Parker. They had 1 left. Very nice for a kids bike. Few kids had them out last weekend and were ripping on them.

Glad you asked the question cause reading these responses is helping me with everyone’s experiences. My soon to be 16 rear old boy has ridden quads since that’s what I grew up on and only taught him on 4 wheels. He has been riding a yfz450r for the last couple years in Glamis but he has been bugging to go to two wheels. Since he has been doing great in school, I am going to cave and get him one for his birthday. So much to choose from but have it narrowed down to Honda or Yamaha 250 but figuring exact model is the tough part haha. Will probably register in AZ to get around the sticker issue if we go new.
If you ride glamis a lot I’d get him a 450.

Here are a few pics from last weekend. Thanks again @ChumpChange for the gear. Got all 9 kids wanting to go presidents. My Mom watched them all the other day and She said that's all they talked about.

Still on the hunt for a few more bikes. Could use some more kids boots size 7-8.

Took all 9 of the kids out last weekend. They are learning quick. My 7 year old nephew hitting the jump on the 2nd day. They put over 80 miles on the RZR200 in 3 days. Probably similar on the bikes but no odometer.

Ended up with 4 Hondas and a Yamaha. The Honda 110 is sweet. There are 3 in the pic and another neighbor kid had a 4th. Few more trips and will need to get another 1.

Nice. That's a serious jump for stock suspension.
