So we rented a boat for the week and are currently in Key West. Where is the best Cuban sandwich place?

I couldn’t find one better than I’ve had somewhere else.

Have fun! Love us some KW.

I don't know where to get the best cuban sandwich but Buffalo shrimp and key lime martinis? Alanzo's A&B Bar. Stone Crab? Half Shell Raw Bar. Drunk 2 am pizza? Angelinas. Sloppy Joes? Sloppy Joes (they created them). Sushi? Miso Happy Sushi. Pho? Sofaking Awesome. Lobster hoagie? DJ's Crab Shack. Breakfast? Blue Heaven or Pepes. Best Concert? Durt Bags @ Durty Harrys. Sunset? Loui's Backyard Bar. People watching while sipping a cocktail? Ricks Tree Bar.

That should get you started. ;)

My wife (Cuban Born) and I love this place... nice lady owner.. great food and coffee

(We provided some of the Havana pics on the walls)..

If you're driving down, stop at La Nina in Marathon... also very good.

there's no shortage of good Cuban food down there..:)

I can never get enough of Key West!!

The best Cuban sandwich used to be sold at a small market on the corner by the marina. It was two blocks from my Aunt's house. Unfortunately, it's no longer there......

@Tank already covered all the best spots. 👍

lol. All of you inmates are a hoot, thanks!

Didn’t have much time in Key West and just hung at the beach in Bananna cove yesterday- best Jerk Chicken I’ve ever had😎

Now at the Carnival island, Half Moon Cay, today. I could use some suggestions for Nassau tomorrow though 🥰

There is typically a travel advisory in Nassau regarding robberies and such, so just be aware. Don't forget it's a third world country. We didn't have any problems and wandered all around the Straw Market. It's your typical tourist trap with a few cool items and trinkets. From there we hoofed it over to the beach at Atlantis. The hotel and the grounds are really well kept. The marina is right out front and you can relax and admire the $$$$ at the docks. 👍

As backlash said, don't go inland very far as it's ghetto AF. But along the water, you'll be fine. I found Atlantis to be too vegas style for me. Lotta splash and flash and casino and stuff. Not really why I was in the bahamas, so I didn't dig it too much. It's nice but just not my thing for bahamas. I too liked the straw market and walking along the water there with all the super high end stores. We wondered into a high end watch shop and the sales person took my wife and I upstairs to a private room where one watch was on display in a glass case. She brought out Champaine and let me try on this few hundred-thousand-dollar Patek. No high pressure sales pitch, just cool. They knew I wasn't a buyer but treated us extremely well.

There was a touristy place near the straw market called pirates of the Bahamas. It's a wax museum type place that goes through the pirate history of the island. Kinda cool but the bar and restaurant that's attached is ON POINT! Make sure you get some Konk fritters and wash it down with a cold Kalik beer! ;)

Best Cuban food? I'm think about 90 miles directly south???
You'd think... but it's very unfortunate. Typically cubans are very rationed. The tourist (when they have.them there, which is totally different story) get priority. And then it's hit and miss...... Actually very sad

Cubas a mess.
Never found decent food anyplace.

Been a few years,, even the private home based business very mediocre. Probably even worse now, if at all.

Key West is an Expensive place to eat and drink IMHO. Off the chain costs.
