They had a horrendous weekend. Pat was a huge supporter of boat racing, especially The Parker Enduro and The Idaho Regatta.
Just an all around great guy. Their Mom was as sweet of a lady as you'd ever hope to meet.
Anyone who has spent any time around the Minegar family knows what incredible people they are.
My heart aches for them

It’s hard for me to put into words my feelings about Pat.
There simply is no way for me to write what his friendship has meant to me for more than 20 years.
I’m not sure that I’ve ever met a more kind giving, caring man in my lifetime.
I was proud to restore the Nordskog for him and he pretty much gave me and Billy free reign to do it the way we wanted to.
There was only one stipulation…it had to out run the boat his brother Mike was building😂
For me a bond was formed with him and his brothers that has remained strong for many years now.
Of the 100 plus vdrives I’ve driven over the years, I’ve only crashed one…Pat’s blown Spitfire. It’ll be thirteen years next month.
When he called me in the hospital, I was pretty pissed at myself for doing that to his boat.
He was so gracious, telling me they’ve had to scrape his race cars off the wall more than once and this was nothing.
He was way more concerned about me than the boat!
So many great memories with him from the Races, to Needles, to singing with him and his brothers…just to many to list!
Spent time with him at Needles this year and then a Friday night dinner here in Carlsbad and some time again the next morning at our house.
I feel blessed and am grateful that we got that time together.
When Mike called months ago about the tumor I had a hard time breathing. It was like I got punched in the gut.
When I got the call last week that time was growing short… I prayed with tears streaming down my face.
Loved that man.
May God bless, comfort and watch over the Minegar family.

Losing two loved family members in the short span of two days is tragic. My prayers go out to the Minegar family.

This upsets me.....we'll never hear that halfassed narration of boat racing events from the voice we expect to hear at boat racing events again......his brother might be there with the speedboat racer helmet on (sorry Mike lol) but it won't be the same. Who are we supposed to chastise now? I met Pat once in either LB or Parker...years ago, can't remember really, but he was laughing, and seemed to always be having a good time. RIP Rattle Can Lou, you were a big part of the game we all love.
