Jimmy Prock is the most bad ass tuner on the face of the planet for at least the last two decades. You either know what I am talking about or you don't. I would put him up against anybody, Alan Johnson, Austin Coil in his prime , or anyone else I can think of for the last 20 years. Jimmy can tune both a funnycar and a dragster, not something any other tuner can say.

If I am wrong, please let me know? Been following Prock for years, not the team or driver.

It was kind of weird watching him and Medlin at introductions Sunday associated with DSR though.

John Force wouldn't be where he is if not for Austin Coils in my opinion.

I agree, but John and Austin brought Prock on board for a reason. The Force camp did not teach Jimmy, Jimmy brought that talent with him. The only guy I can think of that can tune a flopper and digger both. John's camp is a fading dynasty.

The tuner only gets a little love just like a catcher in a baseball game who just caught a no-hitter. IMO Prock is one of the best but the guy still has to drive the car...

They are certainly struggling right now.
But I remember hearing the same thing in the past...namely the years before he won Championship #'s 15 and #16...
Oh yeah, also in 2009 when Hight was sitting just about where he is now in the points, then after getting into the countdown by one round, ended up dominating the run and won the title.

While they are for sure in a tough spot team wise, I have never heard of a guy sitting #3 in points called a "fading" dynasty before.:rolleyes

I would remind you that Prock went almost a year without getting Hight down the track at all recently, and after the swap with Neff, John had to defend Procks talents publicly. When He hits, He hits hard...like this weekend.
But all the top tuners are capable of that...Neff has had a horrible year (although Hight gained a spot to #9 this weekend), and Courtney seems about as detached and distracted as can be.
But just when you think that it is over for JFR... BOOM, here they come.

In fuel, Britt is #7 in points...ahead of some pretty big names. Todd, Langdon amd Torrence in the top ten and some others not in the top 10.
She has about 4 final rounds to her name although no wins yet, it is coming.
Erica Enders took 8 years to win a pro stock race...I don't think Britt will need 8 more races to win one.

Johns tenacity is legend. He thrives on being forced to rally. If history tells us anything, it is a BIG mistake to kick him to the curb and discount his teams abilities.
You will NEVER see the Don discount Force...JFR is the very reason that Don Schumacher assembles the best talent on the planet!

One thing that is over looked in drag racing is the amount of cars your team may have in the field for a race. If your a 4 car team and it's a 16 car field do you think you may have an advantage over a 1 or 2 car team. That advantage IMO is one that is somewhat overlooked...

I thought I had a pic of Jimmy Prock with my kids, but this is the only one I found.

John was anti social this weekend, but his girls were out there talking and signing autographs. They were the last team to unload and the 1st team to pack up every day.

and Tommy, Tony has never been a favorite of mine either, but the way he talked to my son this weekend and challenged him to a practice tree competition earned him some respect from me. I give him props for that.

That's cool. He was doing the same thing the same afternoon after insulting Deb and I that morning when no one was around.

I do think he is getting better. Maybe he hired a PR coach? Are daddy hired one for him?

Sorry to Drag up an old thread.................. But,

As much as I could give two squirts of piss about the Force camp. Now that John has Jimmy Prock back in his corner, that makes the old dinosaur relevant again. He might make another championship. Money talks.
