This is Willow Beach, Az. It is the upper part of Lake Mohave, located about 11-12 milws down river from Hoover Dam.

Got any more pics of The Gambler? Is this the hull that blew over, or did he have more than one hull? I have a particular intrest in this hull. These are the first good pictures that I have seen of the Gambler. I have searched the web high and low ,for pictures but have come up empty.......Hal

I'll have to check, I know I have some more somewhere. Yes, this is the one that blew over. It was destroyed after my grandpa sold it. Shame, that boat hauled ass. As far as I know there was only one boat. He ran a blue daytona at one time, but the white one is the one that dominated.
Out of curiosity...what's your interest in it?

I own a daytona that is a project. The boat was wrecked at some point and passenger side sponson had been replaced and the sponson that was used to replace it is from " The Gambler". Here are a few pics. If You look on the side of the deck You can faintly see where it said "JP MARINE RACING"
I also have ,what I think is the original trailer.
I would love to see more pics and hear history, if You have them.

That's awesome you are fixing your boat with pieces of the Gambler! I'd love to someday build a clone to it. My grandfather, John Spyksma was the original owner of the boat. Greg Shoemaker drove the boat and so did Joe Podwoski. If I remember right, he sold the boat to Joe when he decided to buy a blown gas hydro driven by Shoemaker.

I'll ask my grandma if she has anymore pictures of the boat. I remember seeing a picture of the boat on it's trailer at my grandparents old house. The trailer had the same kind of wheels the "general lee" from the dukes of hazard had. Had a bitchin painted to match chevy dually too.

LOL! No , If You look in one of the upper pics, you can see that someone built up about 1/2" of resin , to build up a dip in the deck. I chipped off the resin , but decided it would be easier and better to just cut out the bad spot and lay up a new deck.
