Sacramento has the same for Xmas Day.
I put in a NG insert 20 years ago, as I wanted heat more than ambiance. Heats the entire front of the house, which is what we were looking for.
So, I’ll throw plastic bottles in the trash and find some other nonsense ideas that these idiots have come up for New Years.

Has anyone ever seen / heard of any getting busted for it?
I mean I guess, if you're in a rural burn zone & you've got the full on 'Burning Man' action going on in your backyard . . .
But what do they have . . . ??? . . . people driving around in vans starring up at chimneys???

A few years back they were trying to get traction to eliminate some or all of the fire rings at huntington state beach . . . I saw them putting up equipment across PCH to monitor air quality, but nothing ever became of it.
They tried to pull the same shit in Corona Del Mar and got shot down . . . that was basically the 'Richies' not wanting dirt bag wood burners on 'their' beach.
I'm sure they went back to the drawing board and are re-formulating a game plan and it's only a matter of time.

No kidding right! Knock, knock... hello, Hi, yes we are from Aqmd and here to tell you you need to put out your fire place now please.

I'd tell them Merry Christmas and get off my property and slam the door.

Yep!

No warrant, no entry. There isn't a single judge on the face if the planet that will want to take time away from their family on Christmas to sign a warrant over someone having a cozy fire in the fire place.

Problem is that's not how it will happen. They will take pictures and attach a 500 fine to your property tax bill. You don't pay They levi your house...

What yhey have are your neighbors reporting on you. When i lived in CA, neighbor always told me that last night was a no burn day an i shouldn‘t have had a fire. Standard answer was i didn’t know. Then i started getting the No Burn Advisories via email. Betting money she signed me up. Either way i kept burning

Little by little California had turned to into such a commi state, amazing that so many conservatives still like living there and support the state with their tax dollars. Telling citizens they can't have fires, diesels, gas powered mowers etc....FK YOU CALIFORNIA!

I would be more concerned about the state allowing your twelve year old son to castrate himself against your wishes more than a burn ban but that’s just because I’m old fashioned I guess.

Watching all the rules and regulations from afar for all these years makes it easy to see how California does things just to keep its residents tuned up for control.

Some of what Cali residents just roll over and take is mind blowing. The conditioning is self evident.

But hey I know, business, retirement, weather, entertainment, etc.…

Merry Christmas!!!!

I mean a Yule Log fire on your TV is basically just as good. F California!! Luckily my county doesn't have fire bans, other than no fire days for burning brush.

What it actually looks like

Bottoms up sheep

Comparing the AQMD air quality map to the burn map, does raise some questions as to why such a large area for what appears to be a much smaller area with moderate air quality.
Appears Simi isn't included. What I find most odd is Catalina Island being affected with clear skies. Unless they're motive is adding pollution to the LA Basin --- Doesn't break my heart, I hate the smell of burning wood --- well since our house burned anyway, that smells stays with you.

Seems awful aggressive with the restrictions to me. But then I prefer clean air 😁

That's a different map than I saw last night on ABC and this morning on kcal9, Simi was included, as a matter of fact most of Ventura County was and we just got a notification on our ring from community alert that we are in a no burn. 🤷‍♂️

This sky is over the SFV, looks really bad over there🙄

Well, next time you want up to the minute air quality and burn maps --- I suggest this is probably a more accurate source than KTLA.
https://www.aqmd.gov/ if anybody gives a shit. If AQMD continues to cry wolf on days that don't justify it, they'll even have less public cooperation than they're currently getting.

But that's how these government entities work isn't it ? Primary mission statement of them all, priority # 1, Justify your continued existence.
Priority # 2, Always spend every budget dollar and ask for more the following year, and the next and they next. Priority # 3. Never obsolete your job, always maintain the necessity.

AQMD has no jurisdiction in Ventura County. One of the MANY reasons we chose to move to Simi and not LA, Orange, San Bernadino, or Riverside counties.

AQMD can't go past the Santa Susanas....... I was laughing at my Dad yesterday when we was telling me about the ban. Like he said though, how in the hell would any of this work?

1.... He said it wasnt mentioned on the new cast he watched (I think he watches Fox), he only knew of it because he read the Times for the first time in months on Sunday.
2.... How would they enforce it and who would attempt to enforce it?
3.... If it was enforced, it would never stand scrutiny because of the previous points.

Trump's biggest mistake when in office was not eliminating the loop hole that allows individual air resource boards to exist,

Telling people what to do is getting old with a lot of people. People are starting to realize that government isn't telling us the truth. Yesterday and today looks incredible in So Cal but the AQMD says no fires and extended no fires today also. Could it be they just want to ruin your holiday? I can tell you they won't ruin mine!
