If you plan on off roading it be aware that you will need to upgrade or replace all the running gear! Looks like fun.
been in some deep water or flooded.

This one will be WAY more practical.
Fairly clean underneath, there's a little surface rust, but not too bad!
Looking at lift kits. Any suggestions?
Looking at a rough country 4.5" long arm kit.
Get quality - invest in quality and save yourself from spending more replacing stuff down the road. Dealer had mid line from a quality standpoint (Rubicon Express) already installed on a JK I purchased and almost everything has been upgraded in 2 years. Granted I paid .25 cents (my cost was less then same lift - component not including labor from shop) on the dollar for the lift since the Jeep was sitting on the lot for 9 months.
Cherokee!!
Yup!
Educate me please, that front bumper design, what is it designed to ward off ?
Evil spirits!
It's called a stinger bar and it's to help prevent front roll overs when descending a steep hill. I'm redesigning my front bumper to incorporate a winch mount and am thinking about making the stinger hinged at the bottom with a hydraulic ram at the top. That way if I end up like this guy I can extend the ram and flop my ass back down. :thumbsup

I'd put the receiver in it, with a very large drop hitch for moving your trailers around the yard.
It should be named H3: Headless Hula Hauler

My dad's worked extremely well and went everywhere on 33's.
He flopped it on the Dusy in July and did quite a bit of body damage. He's not one to drive a cut up trashed so I started looking for a new xj to swap over parts. Took about 5 months but I just found him a super clean 00 limited that was owned by an old couple. Flat towed behind there motor home and only had 84k miles.
Time to make it bigger and better...new wheels and 35's this time. View attachment 525385 View attachment 525386
Hey Cole, thoughts on this kit?
Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/142124136778
That's the exact kit I put on my dads. Replaced the shocks with bilsteins pretty fast.
It flexes good but like mentioned the joints will blow out fast if abused. Rc warranty was good and they replaced the joints twice before we upgraded to Currie Johnny joints.
What I will tell you is plan out the build and be realistic with where you are headed. You will save a ton of time and $$$ doing it one and doing it right.
If you eventually plan on running 35's and building a hard core crawler start with parts that will work moving forward [emoji106][emoji41]
Cool. I plan on using it more as a "hauler" more than a crawler. Lol.. I want the lift more for not banging my head when I get in the damn thing. I'm used to driving a super duty. Gotta jump up in that one.
Take a look on the Cherokee forums. Lots of different options out there depending on budget.
Clayton long arm is bad ass if you have the cash.
Look at rustys stuff as well.
How much work is in this rig...? It looks bad ass. Was there a lot of welding involved in this one..?
I know absolutely jack about jeeps, but we are looking for one to keep at the river. Keep going back and forth between a Bronco, or a YJ (we have 3 kids..) or a cherokee. Your dads cherokee looks awesome!
