Jeep wheel size and offset

My daughter is getting new rims and tires for Jeep. She’s going with a 33 BFG.
I’m thinking 17” on the rims but not sure about width of rim or offset. I know there are some serious jeepers on here, what do you think? JL 2020. If you think lift is required what the best ride for this Jeep. Thx

33’s on a JL can go on stock rims

33’s on a JL can go on stock rims

Pretty sure stock is 7.5” width. She was looking at 8.5” wheel
What size 33 would you recommend?

not sure what off set your looking for but try to stay close to stock.

37’s and 17 x 8.5 or 9 - 12 jk
35’s and 17 x 8.5 - 2005 LJ

We are running just shy of a 33 in Angela's JK. Stock rims needed a wheel spacer of around 1 1/2". So I'd adjust the backspace accordingly. The only thing that rubbed at the stock height was the sway bar.

Jk’s and JL’s are different. The JL was built to run a 35 on a stock Rubicon. Stock rubicon’s come on 32+ tires. A non rubicon can run rubicon wheels and tires.
Buying rubicon take-off wheels and tires would be the best option.

I run Milestar 35's, 17x8.5 with 4.75 backspace, on a JK with Icon Vehicle dynamics 4" lift. Ride is 10x better than stock

I have a set of stock JL Rubicon BFGs. 15k miles, look brand new. Holler by DM if interested. They'll bolt right up, no need for spacers, lift etc.

Because the new stock rims and the AT’s or MT on them are as nice as any of the crap the dealer aftermarket dept will sell you. 315 Nittos on deep dish fuels aren’t a right of passage . To me they are just a badge that says I don’t take it off road. lol

Where is the OP saying anything about nitto’s and deep dish fuels?

So stock wheels and tires mean you take it off road.

If you are going to the trouble why not upgrade the wheels.
And since when do Jeep owners care about cost lol

I took off used 35x12.50x18 Toyo with fuel wheels

I bought used 35x12.50x17 Toyo with methods for $1900

told my wife an inch makes all the difference

I just bought my daughter a JL with the 2.0 T and am looking at same thing adding 33s. Not sure how much it will effect mpg as this 2.0T is getting me 23-24 highway and 19-20 city. I like this stock setup if I can find at right price. Think they come on the 392

I don’t think a lift would be needed. Probably look great though with just a 1.25” leveling spring spacer on front of Jeep. Cheap and easy with stock ride quality.

Also a big fan of smallest diameter wheels for more sidewall. Would have run 15” wheels if I could have found them for my JK. The 17’s work with my big brake kit though.
