Prices have gone way up! WOW

Got an actual quote. Better than what the website suggested, but still not something we would ever consider doing. Beautiful boat though.

I have 2020 Playcraft 2700 extreme mega toon,Single 400R .In real world use with the family and ice chest etc I may see 54 mph max. While I am not thrilled with the fit and finish and rigging everything else about the boat we enjoy. Ride quality in big chop is better then the Forrest Rivers , Avalons and some of the higher line boats IMO.

From a function standpoint it's great and exceeds the late model fancy stuff. It has lots of storage both in cubbys and on deck. Alhough it does not have a rear step the large storage box in lieu of swim step acts as a dive platform for the grandkids. It's just extremely user friendly. Is the rear swim step walkthrough.

Should I choose to upgrade I would have a hard time buying anything else. Cosmetically there are some really nice units being built. Just have to remember its a damn pontoon.

A big single, or a twin engine pontoon will tow everything better than an Ultra Deck. I’ve owned both. A Trifecta or similar outperforms it in every way. Ride, acceleration, turning, seating/capacity, maneuverability, boarding, etc.
Except I am not ready to give up the deck and my need for speed. I like cruise 60 to Topock Sunday mornings until my wife tells me to back it down to 45

I have a friend with an over powered toon and the problem is the Bimini tops. I had a Bimini on a boat that was good up to 80 mph but they’re so big on the toon I’m not sure they can build them stout enough. Maybe that’s why hard tops are coming into play.

Twins don't add much speed for the price tag.
Maybe if you were hauling 15 of your friends all the time
It also ruins the rear deck area for swimming
Those Chase toons are a perfect example. A lot of money with no center tube storage, lack of sun protections, and poor performance for a mere $300k lol
We don't need center tube storage, the boat has so much storage that it is not needed. So what do you consider poor performance? Our last Chasetoon did 64 with twin 400s, the boat is 33 feet long, so considering the size of the boat it performs very well. Also plenty of shade, more than any other boat.

twice the power and who wouldn't want that lol

Well...

In a performance hull, sure! 👍🏼

In a toon? Kinna a huge wasteof money. It's not like you're gonna pack air and get on plane, with a boat full of people and furniture! 😜

Enjoy the ride. 😎

I would always go twins over a single on a toon.. while the top speeds are generally 10+ mph faster that isn’t the reason. When you load them up with a real deal party crew the singles fall off rapidly in cruising speeds.. the twins maintain and are able to carry the nose.. if that isn’t enough the maneuverability off plane is a much better program.

They cost more but I’d take twin 250’s over a single 500 all day long and twice on Sunday.

What would the cost difference be on that exact scenario?

I think the analogy here is pretty good. Most of our lake days are just the two of us, for the occasional few times that I have 6 its just not worth the extra expense, fuel and maintenance to have a second motor hanging back there not pushing its weight.

Just my opinion, someone would be lucky to squeeze 10+mph out of having a second motor, even if they were running the jack plates.

So on a center console v bottom is twins a waste of money? I guess its what the customer wants, will the boat be the fastest, of course not but the ride of a pontoon is amazing. To each there own and we are working on phase 2 which could change the game again, thanks for the time

It would be pretty close to the same to run twin 300Rs verses a single 500R.
You guys at the boat show this weekend? I still have not gotten a chance to see your hard work.

A center console v-bottom would be a performance hull, yes? 🤷‍♂️

New performance toons handle wind chop extremely well.

I just had mesh put in the center of my top, hoping it helps…

I had a full stainless top (with mesh) built for my cheap azz toon.

Those plastic pieces, with the square aluminum tubes, looked like an accident that was waiting happen! 😱

Kris Hansen is selling his current Berkshire, he just picked up a replacement for it! That would be a great toon for @Warlock1 IMO. My parents have the identical toon. Its a single engine Berkshire 25RFX 3.0+ with a 350L6 on it. Does right around 50MPH and will be less than 100K for sure.

Thanks all, we did find something that I think will work.
While I would like to have a toon in the 50 mph range, it seems most toons hover in the 45 mph range. The big difference was the cost per that mph. We saw everything from 50k to 100k for that speed. Size and ammentities were a factor for sure, but in the end it is a pontoon boat. One that we are going to grill on, eat food on, drink on, have sex on and make memories with. I've long given up the need to keep up with the Jones's.
By all means if you see us, stop by and say hi. Hop aboard and share a burger, beer and some good stories because after all is said and done, isn't that what life is about?
