Anyone have a 26P max 5 they would like to sell? Or trade for a 24P max 5.

If you're still in the market for a 26 pitch Max 5 prop, there's one on Mohave Co. Craig's list under boat parts right now. I looked at it about a year ago, and it's super clean, just out of my price range.

For that price you’d be better off buying new from Teague. That one has been for sale almost a year.
I would have a new one from teague if they had one in stock! Might just be waiting a month or so.

What did you run it on? Is that a 15”?
Just an FYI
I run a 25 pitch Bravo that was cut down 1/2" in diameter and I had the cup taken out. I runs like a MF'er. Better hole shot with the smaller diameter and much better top end. Take your prop to Augie and tell him to cut down your Maximus and balance it. I bought a stock prop for $500 and put another $500 in work. It's the best one I have had. Best of both worlds. In fact, I had my spare dine the same way.

It's actually a 27P now. Runs great

How did they cut down a 25, and end up with less cup to make a 27p?

What are you running it on and what motor package? In the past with a heavy boat ive not had luck with 15” diameters.

I am sure its a great prop. If possible I want to find a factory prop that is best so if for some reason it gets destroyed i can buy another vs having to worry if someone can duplicate something thats had a bunch of work done to it.

I don't really know. It was done by a guy in San Diego that Ultra used to use. I wish I did know but I'm sorry, I don't.

Well, I should have said my boat is pretty light for its class. It's a 247 with a 496 HO. The dry weight was about 3,300 lbs or so.

Best of luck finding the prop that works for you.

BTW, great thread!!! Makes me realize that I know much less that I thought. Maybe the brain trust can have a class on props at a meetup in Smith’s this winter. I‘ll buy a round or two. 👍

So much to it and seems like if you wanted the best prop you need about 5 to test and thats not easy to find.

There not cheap, almost 3k by the time you buy the hub kit and shipping( I also bought a prop lock). One would think when you spent that much money you would get free shipping, maybe a t-shirt or hat......... nope. On a positive side they definitely know their stuff. I gave them the numbers I had with existing labbed B1 and they made a recommendation. I had an issue with my drive shower and the prop pulling air through it but that was easily sorted. Max 5 is better EVERYWHERE! additionally if the prop you pick or they recommend is wrong you cant get a refund but you can exchange it if needed. So yes its a lot of money but the fuel savings for midrange cruse will pay for itself in a couple years. In my opinion worth the coin.

I had one on my lavey and it worked extremely well all the way around. I have a 24 on my ultra and it is way better then the bravo 1 in all areas its just to small. Using the bravo it would come off plane at slower speeds and made it real hard to slow down for big stuff.
