I might have the “old neighborhood”. It did just get dark but there’s no one up/down the block.

First group that came to our house was 20+ kids & a handful of others since.
Our hood has been transitioning to new young families as several OGers have passed on.

Slower every year. Not like when we were young. I think we got maybe 20 last year. Wife gets up. I relax 😎

3 teenagers and then 1 kid in the last hour. Got home at 6:30 and probably missed some. Saddest year yet. The city park is having a big festival, carnival rides and what looks like 2 hot air balloons. 😳

I went to the house across the street and bartered cookies for candy. 😀

Last house was like Main Street Disneyland. Wall to Wall people from everywhere bused in. Moved out here, and there is still trick or treating in town, but not out our way.

Always was a tradition, we'd carve pumpkins as a family, and light them just for display. Last year, the wheels fell off, so this year, no pumpkins. Maybe, eventually, there will be grandkids. For now though, the house is kind of sad.

Damnit though, the good news is the candy should go on sale tomorrow!

This was a Star Wars themed rock band in the driveway

And one had a haunted garage in the dark with a guy revving a gas chain saw and would run out chasing people.
Some streets with hundreds of people.

Yeah, those teenage years, awesome for the kids, sad for the parents.
Mine are 18 and 19 and at parties. I guess that’s a good thing. 🥲

A hunch back clown walking around with a gas chain saw firing it up. No chain, but stihl.
He chase a teen girl until the girls dad just pointed a finger at him.
He shut it off and ran down the street. He's gonna get his ass beat.

Our lot was full. Next event we are charging a fee…. 😂. Shocked that we didn’t connect. It seams like I can’t go anywhere in town without seeming you these days. I might have to come check out the progress of your shaggin’ wagon.

First Halloween at our new place. We had a group of about 30 people, decent amount of other groups out.

It seems to be very age dependent on the neighborhood Young families like to buy new houses, the newer the neighborhood I’m in the more kids.

Not 1 here. No street lights or sidewalks can make hit or miss. I pour the big mug of change in a bag. If they show up, I let them reach in and grab a handfull of change. They get like 47 cents and run out telling mom they got money. Kids happy, mom is happy because they didnt get candy, and I didnt spend a bucnh of money on candy im stuck with.

The oldest is working tonight, took a shift because a coworker had to put their dog down. She's 20, and has a Halloween party tomorrow night (college kids nowadays don't have calenders I guess?) 16yo went out with his girlfriend, "trick or treating", a few couples and younger siblings. He's kind of the "security" for the youngers. My older boy, just turned 18, he's not big on crowds or the whole "fright nite" stuff. Mom picked him up from an appointment, and they picked up Del Taco on the way home.

The only thing constant is change🥲

Took the kids out we had one Street in our neighborhood that only had 3 houses handing out candy out of 20. People have forgotten that trick is still part of trick or treat....

It's a madhouse and we love it!! ❤️
That's way cool. It must have been huge fun.

We havent seen any kids out here on our county road in the two Halloweens we've lived here.

Back 20-25 years ago in Plano we decorated the yard and had dozens of little ones coming by. Seeing the joy of those children in their costumes and the excitement when getting big handfuls of candy gave us a glow that lasted for days. What a shame the tradition seems to be dying out.

I’d guess we got 250+ visit. Busy as the last 4 years I’ve been here. I think 2020 may have been a bit bigger. Good Halloween 🎃

Edit: still getting people at 9:55 albeit stragglers.. didn’t answer the door because they need some common sense lmfao.

We are in Murrieta. We went to one of the nearby housing tracts, Copper Canyon, (we are rural and without neighbors ) to hangout with oldest daughters friends families. I’ve never seen anything like it. They closed off streets, block parties, kids everywhere, trump flags, and even the PD and fire department were there handing out candy. I’ve never seen anything like it. I didn’t even have to bring my own beer.
