so I am having some e-mail issues, (3) email accounts (2) to my local ISP and (1) remote to a Oregon ISP (company I work for is in Oregon).
both local e-mails work fine (send and receive) but the Oregon one only receives and will not connect to the Oregon ISP mail server to send, all settings are correct and tried setups in Win mail live, outlook and thunderbird all with exactly the same results, even did a remote viewer with the Oregon ISP and let him set it up, after 3 hrs nothing, zip-o. so the guy in a last ditch effort says lets look at your IP addy........oh that's it you have a low scoring IP addy sorry can't help you.......WTF it's been working for months and all of a sudden...yea right sounds like a cop out to me, is there such a thing a IP grading?

Technically no, but your address could be within an IP block that has been blacklisted as having a large amount of mail spam (or infected computers spamming w/o the owners knowing). Some ISP's will block entire IP blocks in order to slow down the flood of spam. The only people that would most likely be able to help you is the ISP you are using for your current internet access.

Karl, see if you can ping the mail server address from your computer, see what happens:

1. In Windows, click on Start | run
2. Type in the text cmd then click on the OK button.
3. You should now see a small black window with white text.
4. In that box, type in ping mail.yourdomainname.com (fill in yourdomainname.com with the ISP domain name)
5. Hit enter
6. If this works, you will see the IP address of your mail server.
