I posted this in the government and politics forum and didn't get much traction. US citizens have been bombarded by political digital sourced propaganda for 10+ years, before that it was in print but not nearly as biased. Not taking a side in this post and consider my self as true independent thinker but feel I have a nose for sniffing out BS more than others. Wife and I were watching TV last night and a commercial came on about this site - https://www.justfacts.com/

I questioned the website as it is owned by the old CEO of MS, but what drew me in was his push for educating voters to make INFORMED opinion. I assumed it was another left wing media propaganda generator, but from what I can can tell it looks legit.

Anyone else use this website?

When I was a teen, political movements such as the John Birch Society, SDS and CORE, among others, were trying to gain traction. Today’s social media has given them and their offspring ample room to roam. Be aware and be careful.

I think between the AM radio shows of Charlie Kirk, Dan Bongino, Carl Jackson, and Dennis Prager, Larry Elder and a few others; you will get a pretty full picture of most issues of the day.
I have found that most of my go to websites all too often are going for a bit of sensationalism and making mountains of mole hills at times.
With that said, between Gateway Pundit, Redstate, Zero Hedge, and X (Twitter) I can read about just about every impostors, but everything has to be taken with a grain of salt. Do your own due diligence.

I don't have time this morning to check it out, but I did bookmark the site. I will try to check it out soon, but it would be great if there is a site that would just give the facts.

They talked in depth about this at our last delegates meeting in San Diego. The delegates from your area were in attendance. It was very interesting hearing the report on it for sure

Both sides lie. You have to read through the lines and filter out bullshit on your own.

Google and read multiple articles on what concerns you to weed through the lies.

I stumbled upon a pretty good podcast, usually about 15-20 min. It's called UNBIASED.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you on the whole "10 years ago" thing.
I was recently up at Hearst Castle and it reminded me of all the print media he owned and how biased his news media was.
I have found that in most evey aspect of life it comes down to money, and those who have large sums of it are in control of what you hear and see in the media so as to protect their own interests and agenda.
But the reality is that there will never be a completely unbiased reporting of newsworthy subjects because everyone is human with a different perspective and opinion, which even with the best of intentions will always make its way into the relaying of information

That’s why I said multiple articles. You can read through the bullshit if you try.
Multiple articles…all provided by Google.
Google is not going to provide you with a balance of information. It may seem like it, but it is not.
They already know all your online habits. From viewing to downloads to shopping and the habits of every single one of your contacts. That’s not conspiracy, that’s just the modern day internet environment.
Your searches will yield different results than some one else’s searches. ALL will be biased and all tailored for each individual. The last thing ANY vendor wants is to waste time providing you with info or data that will not yield any ROI, whether directly monetarily or indirectly through influence.

Im not trying to diss on you, I’m saying get away from Google. I’m an Apple guy, but I do have a pc laptop for “other options”.

So Instagram isn’t a good option then?

The difference between a conspiracy theory and the truth is about 3-6 weeks these days.
Right?
Conspiracy Theories are like little white lies. They are all stories that start with a little bit of truth but the story gets embellished each time it is told to the point it is no longer believable.
Doesn't mean that there isn't some truth to them. The question becomes the quantity of the truth.

Lol
Primarily, reductio ad absurdum gets applied to the point that the baby gets thrown out with the bath water.

530 was a good example. He would immediately associate any topic he wanted off the table with contrails.
Lol
When I piss RD off he typically associates me with alien beliefs of some sort.😂

Any sort of dilution by ridicule or reductio turns even valid scenarios into “conspiracy”.
“Conspiracy theory” is a term used by those who either are unable or unwilling to consider a topic as valid…or they have a specific agenda opposing that topic and need to diminish the discussion.

I especially like it when a person with basically zero knowledge, research, data, or any other type of exposure to this or that topic makes a ruling on the validity of that subject based strictly on…well…nothing.

Both sides equally spew the BS....the right seem to spill more "conspiracy theories" whereas the left just straight up lie....you have to just sift through the BS and decide what is real or not to you...

That is until 6 months latter after Google and other site tried to crush the truth.

By the way, @CLdrinker do you have scheduled charters?

86 is the ATH. 😎🤘
This reminds me Tommy you still owe me a ride in yoRe bote. You may not agree but it is what I remember and that is all that matters. 🤪 🤪 If that will not work we need to just get together and catch up. It has been too long!!!!
