Yeah, and he carried a lot of people for a lot of years and probably continues to do so. He's got big shoulders but he was hit by the recession in a big, big way.

I'll continue to buy any boat stuff I can from him until he tells me to stop. Mike is a long time friend to a lot of us here. The list of people he has helped over the years is unreal. Things may not be smooth right now but Mike deserves the benefit of an awful lot of doubts.

Yep...Mike will always be the first to get my business...

I would agree with that.

There's no question Mike is a friend of mine, and I am a little overly defensive of him online historically, but that's tough man.. I'd have a hard time with that as a new customer.

Dave I understand completely. I do the same for my friends no matter what. It just shows You are an awesome friend and anyone who knows you personally would be lucky to say the same.
I have dealt with Rex several times before, and until recently, have always been more than satisfied with the staff, customer service and the parts I received. It's just disappointing to see a great company that carried almost any part a v-drive guy would need, go the way of the Dodo...

The rest of you guys are awesome as well. I am a small business owner too. I understand completely that the shitty economy has its negative effects on all of us no matter what. I can't help but wonder if there is something we can do as a group to help someone that has helped out so many others.

Still around. The haters haven't killed me off yet :D

As I explained in this thread below things have changed, dealing with some issues personally and health and have throttled back. No we can't be everything to everyone as we were trying to be for decades. We have our niches. We no longer have 15 guys. The recession had a little to do with that direction. For those who we can help, thanks. I will leave it at that and there is more in this recent thread which I'm not going to retype here.

That's the second time in recent days that I've seen you quote someone and it's uses a different user name for the quote than the actual user. Just saying. It says Whiteworks but it was actually someone else.

I see that a lot too. It's a Tapatalk glitch I think.

Mike, I meant no disrespect in my previous comments. If I have offended you, I deeply apologize. The recession has been tough on me as well as a small town building contractor. I admire you for your charity and finding a way to give when you are going through tough times. I do the best I can with that as well. As said before, If you need any help with anything at all, please don't hesitate to ask. you have so many people here that respect you and are friends that (i'm sure are more than willing) to help where they can.

Respects,
Jed Riach

Dave has set up a nice machine shop to manufacture his own parts and sell them on his website. His shop is coming along!

CNC machine shops to build the product they want to offer. It has been an "unusual year" trying to work with any/all the 'new guys' in this business. We wanted to start with SS pillow blocks and go forward from there. With over one year of development and a number of damaged material parts, we are still here looking for a reasonable machine shop, that works with stainless steel. We have rigging jobs on backorder, yet need the cavitation hardware parts to finish those jobs. Please PM with any info.
