After my STELLAR day today, it’s fun to re-read this thread.

Those of you that learned of my nvidia story and advised me to sell………. All I can say is I am glad I didn’t follow your advice.

My 19k investment at closing today was…………. $3,141,520 (I actually have a few more shares through dividends, but I am rounding off to 4000 shares, just to make the math simple)

My wife and I just dancing around the house. Life is good!
I would have sold when I doubled my money! Nice work!!! Now sell half! You are causing me anxiety!!! 😂

Up over $800. now......I am just a cheerleader for CYA now as I don't own this one...lol
It was at $822 when I woke up…….

It is now at $802

It is very difficult not to watch it. I cannot help myself. It is just a fun ride!

For those keeping score……… I have 4000 shares. (Actually more, but I want to keep math simple, so I am rounding)

Now I feel poor……..

I just read about a guy that is up over 20 million dollars since the beginning of 2024, with his Nvidia portfolio.

I will sell when he sells……

Saw an interview the other day with Mark Cuban about when he sold his stock for over 2 Billion $$$$$. He said the stock crashed the next week. He got out at the right time. 🤔😛

Whatever the highest Fed rate would be...lol I don't think he needs to worry about FL though.

I would happily pay 20% on a gain like that but would of course try to offset it somehow

I am sure this will get some debate………

My wife and I are discussing 2 numbers.

Selling when it hits $865 per share, which is analysts prediction. ($3,460,000 value)

Or holding out until it hits $1000 per share, which is Wallstreetbets prediction. ($4,000,000 value)

I suspect a bit of a cool down is on the horizon concerning AI. Its been on fire for sure.

Good luck with whatever you decide

This market is too volatile for me, I'd sell now or at least a large portion. I also think you must already be doing well or you'd probably already sold.;)

It will go $1000, especially if the 5 series cards are viable, which I don't see them faulting. I am out at that point and have to divest into something for another 15 years or until the shackles are taken off investment funds. I have had very little go right in life, it seems my nerd ass made a couple good calls 20+ years ago. Still taking it all with a grain of salt but AMD and Nvidia have treated me well and maybe there is a light at the end of the tunnel

Maybe think of taking 1/3 out pay the 20% and keep the remaining in, your position just dropped a bit but expect it from profit taking for sure. I basically day trade most of the time so I would have been out at $802.00 IF I had your position and not the short time frame I had my small tiny portion, I was in and out in under 24 hours but that is me, THAT SAID, I feel and the numbers prospectively say it can easily reach $1000.00+ a share down the road....this is an investment of a lifetime for you and anyone smart enough, lucky enough, blessed enough to be in on ground floor like you did deserves the rewards...nothing but congrats and more to hopefully follow.

So, if you sold today what would you do with the money?
Same question At $685 and $1,000.
What if it were a repeat of Enron?

You are having too much fun trying to decide. It’s a ton of money, but it’s not going to change you or your lifestyle.

Can't find the quote, but someone once said something like: 'having money is more fun than anything you can do with it.'

Ha.

… he will be investigated for insider trading… I have a couple of friends… Brothers who the securities exchange commission investigated thoroughly …but these two brothers who were raised rurally… were really smart… SEC could prove nothing… But all the shareholders got royally screwed😳

I doubt he will be investigated after 24 years. 🤣

Moreover, the tech bubble continued to expand for several months, driving Yahoo's stock price above $230 by January 2000.

However, the bubble burst a few months later and Yahoo stock plummeted. Cuban's net worth would have taken a massive hit without his protections.

"My hedge worked out perfectly," Cuban said.

Just some random thoughts…….

One of the things my wife and I talk the most about with our Nvidia fortune, is to dedicate the entirety to World Travel once she retires from her legal career.

Here is a travel scenario……..

Take a repositioning cruise from Fort Lauderdale to Barcelona. (Approx 14 days) Have high end suite on ship.

Spend a week in Barcelona at 5 star hotel.

Get on cruise ship that departs Barcelona and ends up in Rome (7 days to 2 week cruise)

Spend a few weeks in Rome and surrounding area, at 5 star hotels.

Get on cruise ship that departs Rome and ends in Venice.

Spend a few weeks in Venice, doing the same as above.

Take cruise ship from Venice to Istanbul.

Spend a month in Turkey.

Basically, we would travel the entire world this way. Not on a single ship. But on multiple ships as we follow the warm weather around the world. Taking time in between cruises to truly see those places. Soon as boredom hits, it’s off to the next place.

We want to go back to Tahiti. The last time we were there, we witnessed the most over the top wedding ceremony we have ever seen. It cost the 2 participants 20k. It is truly spending FU money. My wife and I would order the same ceremony, just for the fun of it.

We started pricing out the above scenario. Doing it 5 star would cost approx 30k per month. It is conceivable that it could be paid for by just the interest on the “cashed in” lump sum, of the Nvidia stock.

The above is just a scenario we are discussing.

I would ad more, but I am jumping on my golf cart to go to beach to people watch and drink at happy hour.

Please comment on above scenario? World Travel

Are you and your wife ready to spend 4 months together? We’ve been together 50 years and can still annoy each other. I love cruises, but after 10 days, I’m done.
My wife is my life partner. I could easily spend 24/7 with her.

I don’t think that our scenario is too much different from those that choose to see North America by RV when they retire. The main difference being that we don’t have to drive, cook, make our beds, or go grocery shopping. Instead of seeing North America, we are seeing the world…….. on our schedule. Not the ”World Cruise” single ship schedule. What would take 4 months on the World Cruise, would take us 2 years, since we are staying extended periods in between cruises.

We would also be using the ferry system in the Greek Islands and other such places, so we could get off the beaten path.

The nice thing about a cruise ship…….. you always have multiple forms of entertainment. There is always food available. You can do whatever you want to do in a relaxed fashion, as you continue towards a destination. It’s much better than today’s airport experience.

One last thing……. If you do our travel scenario, it will be a better experience if you start by heading from Florida across the pacific, trying to maintain a westwardly direction. Why? Because the continuous time changes will keep giving you an extra hour to sleep. If you go around the world the other direction, you will continually have to keep getting up an hour earlier. That’s No Bueno for my sleep pattern ! Lol But we would take a practice run by heading to the Med. which is the wrong way. But that was my original scenario. A full Mediterranean exploration trip.

… Isn’t annoying each other part of the fun of it… been trying to annoy the Porsche Cayenne chick and get her to annoy me… All she does is ignore me🤷🏽‍♀️… she has the unique capacity, at least to me to make one feel very lonely😳… I truly am a dumb ass… as I’ve stated many times before… do I love to be tortured by women…Hmmm… maybe so🤷🏽‍♀️

Just remember this one important fact, YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE!!!! Life throws some crazy curve balls and NO ONE ever knows what lays ahead of them SO If you are able to achieve a dream trip DO IT, if you are able to buy a dream boat, car or toy DO IT!..... Life has thrown so many friends such huge curve balls the MAIN thing I hear is "I WISH I DID THIS OR THAT WHEN I COULD'VE" Don't spend the bank but spend a portion and live some dreams.

My wife and I are never-ever going to invest in Bitcoin……… Or anything like it.

It does not meet the parameters that we have set for ourselves, as to what we invest in.
Build the goddamn toy barn and move on!!!!! Lol

From what you’ve described your wife’s name is on the wall of the law firm and I don’t think she wants to give that up?

You can have baller trips for a few weeks and head back home for a few weeks too.

I wouldn’t do an all or nothing move, whatever you two chose. Congrats either way!!!

$830 x 4000 = $3,320,000

The good news just keeps coming! Again…. I am so friggin happy! Mainly because I feel lucky, since there was no skill involved in our good fortune. Just luck

WOW……… I just figured out that my investment grew $126,680, since yesterday.

It went from $791.26 to $822.75 in 24 hours.

183 days ago, Nvidia was worth 1 trillion. Today, it’s worth over 2 trillion.

Let’s be real…… At some point, the party will be over! Let’s just hope it gets to $1000 per share before that happens.

Ok…… I will try to get back to being humble. Lol

BUT I am so happy!

I appreciate the reasons to self-deprecate, but don't diminish it.

Lots of skill and discipline involved in earning an income to live beyond your needs, and again in then investing (and hodling) rather than living to/beyond your means.

May have been lucky with Nvidia, but you'd have been unlucky not to have ended up "fortunate."
