I know it's miserable, let's get that out of the way, but I'm hoping we can help those of us stuck here figure out the best vendors.
I use wozencraft for everything and it's gone up roughly 50% over the past 3 years
Wait, they say the economy is great, but we're all just too stupid to recognize it!At this point, you should feel lucky they didn't cancel your insurance. It's crazy out there.
Move?Ok, let's try to get this back on track.
Anyone out there had any luck shoping around.
So true. We were looking at a BMW 750i and when I got the insurance quote I about shit myself. High end German cars are ridiculous to insure. Even now with a Tahoe, Silverado and a Z06 Vette my insurance has gone up over 50% the last 18 months with Mercury. 51yrs old and clean record with multi car disc.Progressive for auto. Can’t remember who we use for home and Wozencraft for boat. Our auto insurance DOUBLED when we got the S63.
Yeah, we have perfect driving records and have multi car and low mileage discounts. I think for the golf cart two Mercedes and the truck it’s like 4K a year I want to say. Still not horrible but it was a hair over 2k a year before the new car.So true. We were looking at a BMW 750i and when I got the insurance quote I about shit myself. Need to shop around but from what i'm hearing everyone is getting f-d by these massive increases from all companies who still insure in Calif. I would love to hear some suggestions as well.
That's what I was toldDoes George Soros own Progressive ?
We have had Mercury for over 10yrs. We just shopped around and Mercury was cheapest by far.Ok, let's try to get this back on track.

I have had no luck shopping around so far. I keep getting categorised as a high performance boat (a blower motor for being on a lake a mile up) and no one cares the lake speed limit is 35. They must think I’m a speeder.Ok, let's try to get this back on track.

I spoke with Wozencraft and they are going to look at their other vendors. I'm going to call AAA, mercury and a few others tomorrow. I'm paying over 5500 a year for 2022 F250 and 2018 Tesla model 3. Perfect record with 1500 deductible
I just made the switch from Farmers/Foremost to AAA for auto & home insurance. My home insurance was comparable… my auto… saved a ton.About to ad 3 more vehicles tonight to progressive. My Allstate agent secretary called earlier. Felt bad telling her I don't plan to renew. They dropped my commercial truck policy, my waverunners and my house. Then raised my auto policy another $1050 for next 6 month period. $3,750 for 6 months came out to be $800 each River trip for my 2021 Chevy 2500 for insurance and that's only time I drive it.
For homeowners only company writing policies in my area is Bamboo. Allstate didn't bother to tell me there underwriter was non renewing. And other house Safeco sent a letter for non renewal for condition of roof. Which is not bad at all.
They text you a link and it tells you what to take pictures of. Front and back yard, garage, kitchen and bathrooms. Took about 10min had the quote back a little bit after that.Did AAA require like 20 pictures of the house? My loan lady recently switched to them. But required a lot of pictures and a few days to get.
I got Progressive last night on one waverunner. $300 a year up from 250. I couldn't find the vin for the other. Have to ad it next river trip.
Progressive for auto but have to wait 2 weeks for policy to be effective. So had to pay Allstate 1200 for now to stay insured. For the best coverage it was $2200 a month compared to $3740 with a little less coverage with Allstate. I ended up lowering it some on 2 vehicles and it was $1700 for 6 months. So $4K less a year with Progressive once it kicks in in 2 weeks.
Yeah, like mentioned above, front, back, kitchen & bathrooms. And yes, I believe 14 days (or somewhere around there) for them to start coverage.Did AAA require like 20 pictures of the house? My loan lady recently switched to them. But required a lot of pictures and a few days to get.

Does George Soros own Progressive ?
Owned by the shareholders. Vanguard group and I think Black rock are the two biggest. That's what I was told
It is interesting to me that they dropped 70K + holders and then wanted to increase their policies by 50% to help stabilize their balance sheet.... like you just dropped a major amount of policy holders and now you want to increase for all your other ones to keep your $1.2bil net income... This whole situation makes me crazy.. from the tree huggers to the politician's gouging homeowners...Can anyone in the industry confirm, with data, that insurance companies are experiencing more risk due to climate disasters?
I understand the increases in costs to rebuild due to the inflation of prices of goods, service, permitting, etc. I cannot get on board with the fact that these insurance companies are blaming the current situation in the insurance industry on risk due to climate disasters. These folks go through so much modeling and forecasting it is unfathomable. I don't see them missing the prediction of natural disasters by a factor of 100%, nor do I see the occurance of natural disasters happening more often or more dramatically in the past. Purely memory based and not based on data.It is interesting to me that they dropped 70K + holders and then wanted to increase their policies by 50% to help stabilize their balance sheet.... like you just dropped a major amount of policy holders and now you want to increase for all your other ones to keep your $1.2bil net income... And zombies setting fire to everything. Can anyone in the industry confirm, with data, that insurance companies are experiencing more risk due to climate disasters?
The biggest climate issue in CA that has been a problem is the political climate. Insurance commissioner of CA is a flaming liberal and has politicized the office. He had no insurance experience, doesn't even have an insurance license. He was re-elected in 2022. His #1 blame for the insurance climate is "climate change" so of course the carriers are gonna run with that If the state was already on board. The truth is, him playing politics is almost single handedly what's responsible for the mess we're in.Can anyone in the industry confirm, with data, that insurance companies are experiencing more risk due to climate disasters?
