I went to Seattle 3 weeks ago for a company trip and came home with what I thought was a simple head cold. This thing wont shake, head congested, lungs full of crap, no energy and coughing till my ribs want to fall out. I have been getting 12-16 hours of sleep and have burned through more cold meds and cough drops than I have ever taken collectively for a cold. My wife has it now and her doctor said its the latest virus going around and nothing you can do but wait it out. Beware if you see somebody sick, run and stay far away.

Only goes away with steroids... Had it for a couple of weeks and only got better with them.

I think I have it now, woke up sick last week in Vegas with congestion, and a fever. Been fighting it off for almost a week now. Same symptoms, cough, no energy, all I want to do is take a nap after being awake for 5 hours.
I figured I would just kick it, so I haven't gone to a doctor, but it's getting old now.

I had some virus like you describe a couple months ago and started taking this and it knocked it out in a couple days and even cleared out the typical lingering residual lung congestion where you just hawk up luggies for weeks afterward. You can get it at large animal vet supply places, tractor supply and online. Directions and package marking in 50 # increments is easy and clear on how to dose for your body weight which is how all meds are prescribed...per body weight. Very safe and been around for ever. Some even say it can cure some forms of cancer.

I am in week number four and it’s finally starting to get better. I’ve had to learn how to sleep sitting up. Same as you I have gone through all the Mucinex and steroids to shake it. I had Covid and the after effects of that were not this bad.

100% fact.
Wife and i have different friends in different areas of healthcare. We've been told what's really common the year is people grinding through influenza A then a couple of days later ... getting flu B 😬

Yeah, we’ve all had the 4+ week cold. Seems worse than I ever had 5+ years ago. We got through it. Never missed a day of work.

Wife and I both had it. Tamiflu was prescribed. Mine lasted about 4-5 days and the wife was 4 days. Not to bad but I didn't eat for 3 days.

Both not vaxxed. I think this was the 3rd time in my life I had the flu. 3 times in 58 years is pretty good in my book. I am not an anti-vax person, but when they have to "guess" what strain it will be makes me say no. Now if I were older and not in good health I probably would get it just in case.

In the middle of it now. Took out our entire family. Self employed, can’t miss work, at home now missing work because this shit is that bad. IMO Much worse than Covid was. This throat cough is next level, cough until you throw up. Doctor gave us bullshit meds, theraflu works best, try to sleep it off if you can. 7th day and still feel like shit.

Everyone in my family has had the flu pretty bad this season, other than me. I have been fortunate to escape it this season....so far. My youngest daughter took 3 weeks to shake it fully

BTW, I apparently ate a bad oyster on Tuesday night and had been praying for someone to put me out of my misery the last couple days. Just starting to feel a little bit human again. This is the first time that's happened in all my years and I think it may be a while before I eat one of those slimy fuks again...

I got an idea, maybe people who are sick could cover their mouths when coughing?

I got off a flight yesterday, and I cant believe how many grown adults travel with their "allergies". Fuck off, Allergies, yea right! Its constant hacking, no covering the mouth even my 3 year old knows that manner, post nasal drip with the loogey noise. I could hear it thru my noise cancelling headphones! How about those people stay the fuck home. Or wear a mask at least.

Noticing that more and more I hate public settings. People just dont give a shit anymore.

Basically the sickest I’ve ever been has been from food poisoning. Put me down for two weeks one time and I lost about 15 pounds. Trying to pass my colon and puke. My tongue for hours had me evaluating my financial status how bad it was.
Had a knowledgeable person tell me To take a dose of a powerful antibiotic like Cipro. One time to kill the bacteria in your stomach. Worked.

Just survived a 7 day cruise 2 weeks ago, the flight home is what got my wife and I sick, full flight with people snorting, hacking, nose blowing, farting I knew we were fucked. 2 days later I had body aches and cold symptoms, wife had fever and cough from hell that won't let up, all good now except for cough.

We did a cruise last October with two other couples, four of the six came home with the covid... I'm still bullet proof (Knock on wood) have not tested positive yet. No masks and worked every day.

I caught the Filipino flu back in the 80s it damn near killed me. My grandfather came to visit me while I was recovering and he says now you know why we called influenza “The Grip”. Because it feels like a giant hand has got you around the torso and it’s squeezing you.

I came back from a trip to Nashville the end of January. First week if Feb I had a terrible cought and was a little tired. I felt fine other than that. The bad cough went away, but I still had crap lungs for weeks. I still coughed a handful of times.per day.

Now this week (5 weeks after the initial cough), I am back to coughing my ass off. Luckily this time they are productive coughs, and I am clearing out my lungs.

I get a flu shot ever year (since 1982). I'll risk growing a third nut, than be sick for 3-5 weeks. 😁

Not trying to be an asshole :) , but as far as I can recollect I've never had the "flu" in my nearly 70 years. From listening to friends and employees it doesn't sound like too much fun. I get asked at CVS about getting a flu or RSV shot every time I'm there to pick up a prescription, but figure there's no reason to poke a sleeping bear.

My Mother died from Guillain-Barré. That’s one of the things that can be triggered by the shot. Low risk. But when you lose a family member to something that strange, I pass on it.

One of my sons works around children. I call it the snot factory. He ended up with Covid last month. Didn’t feel he was getting better and went to the Doc. He also had influenza A. Not sure what they gave him, but he got turned around pretty quick. His co-worker was out of work for 3 weeks. Young lady in her 20’s. Nasty stuff.
