I think Rossi will pull a rabbit out of the hat and qualify #1. I'm pulling for Kyle Larson but my gut says Colton Herta is going to win.
Penske is looking fast but will they have the strategy on race day considering their top managers are banned for cheating?

I'm a huge fan.
I'm guessing Penske has the speed for pole...
Kyle Larson has killed it so far, however, I cheer for everybody.
Qualifying starts at 8:00 am tomorrow on Peacock...

To answer your question I'm going Scotty Mac and the Thirsty Threes!
Indy is always such a crapshoot.
I'd love to see Castroneves get five...
Good luck to all!!!

I am super excited to see Larson out there. This will be my 37th race, The last time I was looking forward to the race this much was back in the Rick Mears days days. Larson just "gets it" in anything he's in. I've seen him win at Indy already, but it was on the dirt track in a midget and it was fucking something to see.

Yeah, Penske has his guys sitting out, but they'll still be a major contender.

I am flying out next Thursday for my first 500. Pulling hard for Larson, Rahal, and Rossi. So freaking pumped.

Awesome and welcome. Hope you enjoy the city. The race is something you just have to see, even if you're not a car/race fan.

I hope Larson can do well, it takes a lot of skill which he has but also takes some luck at Indy. Do you really think the Penske guys won’t be helping? The day and age of cell phones and telemetry , it will be just like they are at the track.

Larson...
Kids a generational talent.True racer.
I haven't watched Indy for years .I'll definitely watch this year.
Never heard of the majority of the drivers, most of whom bought their rides.
Larson literally raced his way to Indy.
The amount of publicity he's brought to the IndyCar series is amazing.
Definite shot in the arm for them.
Interested to hear Ron's(rrrr)take...

Well Larson just aborted on lap 4 of qualifying. Back of the line and now has to roll out in the heat of the day. Ouch.

Already one big crash today. Indy 500 qualifying is probably one of the hairiest days in motorsports.

We went for the first time last year. Great race and a great experience.

Rooting for Larson. We watched him at the last 2 years at Turkey Night at Ventura Speedway. He put on a driving show that I will not forget.

I’d love to see Larson in F1….Just once.
Absolute raw talent that appears very seldom.

I’ll be pulling for Colton Herta. He’s the son of Brian Herta. Brian, my wife and I all went to high school together. Talk about being part of the lucky sperm club! Go Herta!!!!

Will Power, he's gone win it for Roger since he's the only Penske guy who didn't cheat in St Pete's with his push to pass.

I’m pulling for Colton as well. As much as Kyle Larson. Met Brian at a gathering and was just an awesome person. ( I’m sure everyone has their own opinion). But became more of fan instantly.
This was a decade + ago and I think Colton was banging on some drums in the background. Well that’s what I remember. Lol.
So to root for his son Colton ( as I always do) or Kyle I’m good.
Most important. Safe race and everyone comes home. 👍

And why in the F do you keep letting Rahal run wasting qualifying time. 🤷🤷

Larson is gonna do pretty good will be no surprise if he’s there at the end. Seems to be getting faster the more he’s in the car.

Putting up impressive numbers for a first timer and he just needs to remain mistake free.

Where's @rrrr ?
He's the Indycar expert. 👍
Old and out of touch. 😁

@HTTP404 I'm gonna make some calls about those Chevy problems. Honda is blowing up engines too. Dixon's car got an engine change this morning, I think that's the fourth Honda that's blown up since practice opened. A couple also let go at Barber two weeks ago.

Wow. Good run Veekay. 👍
ECR always has a good setup at Indy, and Rinus hung it out to make the next round of quals. We'll see what tomorrow brings, I won't be surprised if he makes it to round three and puts it in the first or second row for the race.

My guess is Larson qualifies well enough to start in the top three rows 😂

Then heads to N. Wilkesboro and runs top five in the NASCAR All-Star race tonight.

This is fun to follow. I ❤️ Indy and Larson is a Super Hero.

Started listening to it on the radio as a kid in the 60’s and then the highlights the next weekend on Wide World of Sports. Then they started tape delaying it in the early 70’s, then live in the mid eighties.
I went in 1983…unbelievable event.
TV does not do it justice for sure.
My top two picks are Will Power and Larson.
Really though it’s anybody but Castroneives.
Winning 4 in the Spec Car era, his wins should have an asterisk by them.
In no way do I put him in the same class as Foyt, Unser and Mears.
Foyt stands alone as the single greatest American racing driver period. I’m a big Gurney fan as well, but AJ won Indy in a Roadster and Rear Engine car and was the owner, driver, builder and crew chief.
Lots of respect for Unser and Mears, but not in the same league and were part of the Penske machine which was impressive to say the least(I believe the most talented driver Penske has ever had was Mark Donohue. You need to read his book!)
If you’re old enough you’ll remember when AJ had gearbox troubles at Indy and got out of the car had a pry bar and hammer handed to him and went to work on it in his fire suit!
I doubt Helio would even know end of the hammer to use.
Of course I like Larson because he came up the old fashioned way and is a heck of a wheelman.
Just hoping for a safe race.

Rossi first guy in the 233's. Good to see him have a good piece as well. Penske are the ones to beat though.

Did I miss something. I thought Veekay was in the top six.
Why is he now row 3. Again. I’m sure I missed something.

The three Penske cars, the two McLarens and Ferrucci bumped him.
