My Google search left me with more questions than answers, I always appreciate the knowledge base of RDP. What's a good solution to maintain what's left of my hearing? I'm definitely going to double up with plugs and head set.

Tool of choice is Walther 9, nothing big at all but the range allows up to .300 long tools that I need to protect against.

Electronic Muffs…

it’s like bionic hearing and they are excellent

They cut out the loud Bang but you can hear conversations or foot steps on gravel
They would be a huge asset for a homeowner in a burglar/ home invasion situation….

Bought some noise canceling ear protection like these. They are amazing. While trying them out I could hear the fridge running in the kitchen from my bedroom.

Not going to waste time looking for them in a home invasion though. 😁

yea, indoor shooting is simply miserable, no way around it.

If its not the noise, its the people with zero common sense muzzle sweeping everyone. Typically I'll double up as people mentioned, foam plugs + my electronic muffs.

I use Sordin Supreme X's

This is the set that I use, they have bluetooth so I can answer calls and listen to music. They block out almost all of the noise that isn't voices and make indoor shooting much more enjoyable. I would recommend the gel ear cups to get a better seal and they are much more comfortable.

They are not cheap but they are some of the best.

I use these. They were custom made for my ears. View attachment 1339792
I have a set of those also, They work great ! But I have to remove one to have a conversation. At an indoor range they stay on / in all the time due to other shooters.

with the electronic muffs you can have a conversation
