Bought my house in 2019 and the selling RE agent gave me an almost new LG freestanding range to replace the old grungy unit that came with the house. 5 burners on the glass top, but no heating elements on the bottom of the oven. The wife at the time loved it because the inside of the oven was purple and it damn near new and we didn't pay anything for it. 5+ years later, the oven sucks.
It was supposed to convection bake, but doesn't very well and when you set a convection bake temp, it drops it by 25 degrees F, correct that and shit gets charred on the top and still doesn't get done on the bottom. Recently we have tried just using bake on the settings, and the results are worse. Finally focused my attention on how the thing works and am now in the market for an old school type range / oven with heating elements on the bottom of the oven (seems that convection baking requires elimination of bottom heating elements) but want the glass stove top . I like the Kitchenaid and upper end GE products as a reference.
Any recommendations on this?
