Congrats Tom, very cool hull.
When I saw the tread title I thought it might be about an old car hot rod and just as I opened it up I saw it was your post, knew it was going to be a rare boat.
I do like that 61-2 'bird on the trailer and if I wasn't buried in car projects I'd inquire about it. Not to take away from your thread, I finally got my '55 on the road that I picked up a few years back from another inmate. Still working out some small bugs that go with getting a car back to life after sitting since '82. Might have to ditch the old Appliance headers as they drag on everything from speed bumps to my driveway. Wanted it to look like 1962.

Interesting to see a Hydro with a jet drive. How did they perform?

Never understood the concept. Hydros are designed to blow the tail, but you need the intake of the pump in the water?
Exactly. The tail will be held down.
I've always felt Jets and Jeeps go hand in hand....... if you aren't a jet/Jeep person, you don't understand.

Jeeps have to park a tire on a rock, jets have to trim the jetavator to the moon whenever they drive by people. Same same.

What kind of Horse Shit is that?

Thank you. I have a couple sets of factory ram horn manifolds and I might go that direction to keep it period correct. Hadn't really thought of another set of headers but if I could gain 1 1/2, 2 inches of clearance with them I'd be interested. the block hugger style wouldn't work for me.

I've always thought of it as a learning curve, first the short lived flat bottom jets, then v bottoms (KJ's were amazing to watch), hydros and finally tunnels like the legendary Placecrafts.

Shoot me a PM if you decide to go the header route. Or if you just want a tour of the Hedman shop.
