Can someone please explain to me (like I'm 5 years old) how we can identify and arrest random people with zero documentation that have slipped across the boarder undetected over the last 20 years but cannot catch thieves and other shitbags that are are very clearly displayed on surveillance camera footage and are selling stolen shit on facebook, etc?

Kind of hoping there is some trickle down with that, tough on crime across the board.

priorities. and funding. imagine if the cops dropped righting tickets and did nothing but track down criminals all day long. the jails would be overwhelmed as would be the court system.

how do they track down undocumented people? they have cell phones and email too.

Many are the same people, but I think, to some extent, LE aren't being allowed to do the job. When they did, these people were allowed to "bond" out, for free, and continue. The heavy hitters being tossed now were ones already on lists, that the previous administration felt no need to act on.

Lived through this when AZ tried cracking down back in the late aughts... Police would ask for proof of citizenship during traffic stops and such. Or they acted on tips called in.

I'm guessing they will start in the parts of the cities these people tend to congregate, so chances are the police have a pretty good handle on the locations of the illegals.

As for common criminals, well that has never been a priority.

lol! They know who they are & where they’re at and what they’ve done. Your local & state government won’t allow it to happen.

Immigration is federal so game on.

Sister is Leo near Chicago. They issue DL #s to illegals (not valid dl's though) so they could print them, swab for DNA before kicking them down the line.

Not sure many agencies did this, but some are in the system to track because of that.

ICE is federal.

The problems you are talking about are about as local is can be.
Good cops love making a good pinch. Hooking up some shitbird that is crapping all over your beat makes a guy smile.
The fact is this.
The system is bulging at the seams. Look at the system beyond the cop car.
Cops can only arrest for a misdmenaor crime if they see it happen for themselves, or have a warrant, or have a legit citizens arrest.
You just saw Gascon get dumped because in no small part of the issues you are talking about.
The DA looks at the case with the goal of finding a way to make it go away with the least amount of effort possible.
IF and i say IF, it gets filed, and IF it gets to court we see the activist judge fail the public time and time again.
The population of the state has blown up yet we still have the same jail and prison capacity, hell the state is crowing about shutting down prisons...

The good cops are still out there wanting to do the job. Leadership need to get behind them and let them do it. IF the good cops are not there, the culture of the dept needs to be changed back to the way it was in ancient times...when I worked...LOL.
It can all be fixed. It will require people getting noisy and getting involved, and forcing change...

Amen, law-enforcement’s hands have been tied for too long and betrayed by the legal system.

I'll ask you this, and I always enjoy your postings....

If I witness a misdemeanor crime against me, or a felony crime for that matter.....what I am allowed to do to stop it? Obviously shooting them is out of the question, because that's above a misdemeanor. Am I limited to following them home and stealing less than $950 worth of stuff from them? I suppose I could steal a car so nobody can track the plates with traffic cams or license plate readers, kill the perp and everyone else I see in the process of carrying out my revenge....so no witnesses, but that's not really and should not be the answer. Although.....nevermind.

How do we solve this problem? I've gotten noisy.....doesn't seem to help. Do I need to get like Will Smith in Bad Boys in the scene where the boyfriend comes over 12 hours later when the cops finally do show up to take a report after 5 calls?

3rd Edit:

After reading through the stolen truck deal that @NicPaus is dealing with and learning about Striker cars and facebook places selling them, I was stopped off tonight to pick up a pack of smokes by the post office and there a less than 2 year old Porsche Panamera "S" parked at the red curb outside....with a young native in the driver's seat. I noticed it was missing the passenger side center caps on the wheels....something a Porsche owner would not tolerate. Walking into the smoke shop I observed of couple early 20's fucktards who could barely put words together and clearly hadn't had a shower in a few days walking out after purchasing some "gear", of which the packaging was left in the street next to the red curb.....

There's no FUCKING WAY these guys own that car in a legitimate manner.....no fucking way. It's gotta be stolen or a striker car or both. They ran over the curb pulling out.

What do I do when I see this shit? Besides nothing?

Or do we just need to get louder? How do we get louder without landing in prison with chinese vans shoes and orange jump suits?

I hear ya, and understand your frustration. Be damn careful thinking aobut a citizens arrest. You own it. If you make a legit CA then a peace officer must be summoned and take the case from you. Mind you if the chance is there he may cite and release the perp right then and there. If you decide to effct one you need to know the law frontwards and backward. Because I am out of the loop I would suggest you get a good feel for it from a legit source. I wish I could point you in the right direction.

On the other.

Get with like minded people in your neighborhood and ask for a meeting with a Sgt from your cop shop. Point out how tired you are of the crap, and demand more resources in your neighborhood. Get that same group together and have a meeting with your city councilman or county supervisor. Let them know you are pissed and trouble is brewing if enough of you get pissed to vote their asses out...that is what they fear the most, bad PR and losing their gig.
Ask that Sgt at the meeting to explain the citizens arresst process in your area...have someone taking notes at a minimum.

Push it up and ask for a meeting with your assemblyman's rep or your assemblyman. And your state senator. Tell them you want action. Hold them accountable. Stay on their asses. See if your local TV station has a reporter that would be interested in attending, sort of a local beat reporter. Same with the paper. You get 15-20 citizens in a neighborhood pissed the political types figure there are really a whole lot more pissed that didn't show up...and that can mena real trouble in an election if it catches fire.

The car deal...brother that is a symptom of everything that is wrong with this culture. You are right. But, to change the culture we have to get serious about changing either the minds of the politicans who we have, or kick their asses out. IF you get it rolling you really can change the world, or at least your neighhborhood. I have seen it done, more than once. The only time I got a decent response from a public utility is when I got pissed and spoke to my assemblyman.
He made shit happen, and I now have a good contact in his office.
The system works if you work it. They count on you being too busy, too tired, too pissed, and too willing to say "screw it"...
When you are none of the above, ya scare them.

You are most welcome, I wish I could help more. You will run into some roadblocks, I am sure. Get with your nighbors, find out if you are of a like mind, and then don't take no for an answer. Grind them down. Don't quit.

I just did this approach. Kept on them. Rallied up like minded neighbors. Went to the council meeting. Things Started to happen the next day. But the following morning my truck got stolen. It might not be a coincidence. But it's likely to cost me around 30k. The end of the day I think I should of kept my mouth shut and left the thief alone.

@lbhsbz I keep telling you dude. Get out of LA county. Prosecution of all of these dip shit Third World fucktard’s doing this stuff is not happening in LA county.

Step over into the orange curtain and they still beat dumbasses with Hickory shampoo till they shit their pants. Not saying crime doesn’t happen, but it’s a lot less likely.

FBT touched on most of it. What you have to realize is that this is not a matter of knowing who and where the crooks are. It is 1 billion percent a matter of the focus of Law Enforcement and how it has been dismanteled into the Fire Fighting approach in recent years. The people who lead this wonderful state do not want cops out there being proactive at all. They have a super majority, and for years have been tightening the reins on cops actually going after criminals. This is far beyond the Cops you see driving around in the public. The entire criminal justice system has been altered to provide opportunity after opportunity to criminals to stay out of the reach of the criminal justice system. Just think about Prop 47 from a decade ago and how that decriminalized so many of the quality-of-life crimes that affect all of us regular civilians walking around. That legislation was the wet dream of the majority party, and it's affects immediately started damaging this state. Doesn't affect the rule makers of the state, but the actual people. This has been a coordinated effort by those in charge with nothing more than the intention of accepting criminal behavior as normal. If you don't accept it, well... it's obviously because you are just another white supremist racist piece of shit. Oh, and you probably hate women, want to take away their reproductive rights, and let them die in the streets. You definitely hate gays and lesbians, and for sure do not support men in women's sports... you misogynistic heathen!

As yourself what political party and kind of people have been leading this state over the last several years and you will have your answer as to why it is like it is.

As to the last 4 days of Illegals being arrested... Like I said, it's not a matter of knowing where they are. I know a couple border patrol guys. They were almost physically foaming at the mouth to just be able to go out and actually arrest the criminal illegals. Their system is/was just as fucked as the local state system due to the same bad actors in charge. Hopefully the changes up top allow them to simply go out there and do their jobs. Of the fed agencies, I probably have the most respect for those guys and gals working Border Patrol.

I'm thinking the dufund the police days are Over, with the new boss in da house.

Did you see him tonight???

He isn't intimidated by Anyone!!!

We all should be the same. 😎

I wish that were the case, but unfortunately the damage has been done and it will take several years if not decades to get it back to normal. There has been a nationwide coordinated effort to demonize Police Officers even prior to Obummer taking office. With the power of social media it has only got worse. The pay in California for cops is generally still pretty good, and the benefits in the long run are very good relatively speaking. But even with that, the mindset has changed, and people do not want to be cops anymore. I can't blame them. This issue will haunt us for years.

This is dead nut on the money.

When agencies are unable to fill slots they lower standards, or otherwise manipulate the hiring process to cast a wider net, then we wind up with people in the profession who should not be there. Leadership is critical, setting a standard and holding people accountable is paramount in creating a good cop shop.
I am biased, but I think the guys who work for an appointed chief , those guys are more subject to the whims of a mayor, a council, a city manager, etc.
An elected sheriff has more autonomy. He answers to the people that elected him. This is why you see these conservative sheriff's stepping away from the Woke stuff.

The culture in a dept is a real thing. It is set by leadership. Once you have established a set of core values you get people who reflect those in your line staff.
To change that...to bring the mindset back take leadership changing then correcting the course of the line staff. It is like doing a 180 in the Queen Mary...it takes time, and the captain has to push forward no matter what the direction of the seas are driving him.
If we could magically spin the wheel to start that turn right now it would take 10 years to fix it.
But that does not mean we shouldn't spin the wheel.
This just the tip of the iceberg...this conversation could take hours to touch on all the stuff that matters...

They aren't random, these guys are all busted criminals that have all been arrested and released, they have mugshots, adresses, names of relatives and friends ....

These are the worst criminal illegal aliens in the system. The fact that there are so many of them and it's been this easy all along to go scoop them up is the more troubling part. Your government hates you

Is that the same guy?
Yep I have been tracking him for months. He broke into my Moms truck in October. Over 500 in Lomita, around a 100 in Torrance and 200 in Harbor city. As many as 10 a night on camera. 7 on Christmas eve alone.

He posts on next door taunting his victims. Not sure if it was him or others that I complained to about him. But starting to think it caused my truck to disappear.

I was told he got his ass kicked a few times. He returned to there block the next night. Sheriff told me to leave him be one night or I was going to jail. It's starting to make me wonder what really is going on around here. They refuse to tell his name. They know where he stays. The state program he is on pays for his motel room and food. Problem is I started making a big deal about him. And it might just be coincidence but I don’t think so. The more messages I get sent to me.

He is the perfect example of the failures of our Justice Department. Not trying to deflect from the Street Cops responsibility here, but I guarantee you their hands are tied. This needs to be reviewed by the city attorney and action needs to be taken. Hopefully with recent changes to repeat offenders related to the Prop 47 roll backs, this guy can pick up a felony charge and go away for a few years. Until then, there is only one other obvious solution to this problem and that is if he disappeared for whatever reason. Until then, keep your shit locked up tight.

@NicPaus maybe take him to Parker with you. He could help you set sone anchors in the water. Just load him up with a bunch of chain and have him go for a swim. Or might be able to find him a mineshaft to occupy.

They said even with his priors don't expect him to get jail time. They are thinking he will get probation. Which will allow them to actually search him when they respond to the theft calls. Currently if they don't see him in the act they can't search him unless a citizen does a citizen arrest.

I am over it. If he comes to my house I will do something but he can continue to do what he wants. Thinking about sending a message to the authorities and apologizing for asking them what is being done about him. I don't need another truck stolen from me.

I asked my Guys about it last night if any of them have seen him by my old house they live in. It's a 2 minute bike ride on his electric bike. They said the Cholos on the block would smoke him. I am friends with the family that runs that block. Have lived in numerous gang areas and always make friends with the head of the pack.

Any state but CA this guy would be dead.

I can tell this being around law-enforcement before and after for the last 50+ years, it was one single change that screwed everybody in California and it will last for probably two generations and that’s proposition 47. 15 years of bullshit and I’ll take at least another 15 or more to get out of it and then some.
