Own/Run a hardware store/fixxit/light fab shop. Basically, old school hardware store with tight aisles and everything that anyone could ever need, back shop with machining/welding/metalworking/press capability. If I don't have it, I'd be able to make it or fix it on the spot.
Me too I'm looking at this one , in Wa.

Some good stuff in here. Honestly I am so blessed and it would be hard to get better than what I have and do.

Dream job = professional race car driver (F1 or endurance racing like 12hrs of Sebring or 24 Le Mans)

Reality job = sales of high end retail product. I truly love to sell. So basically what I am doing right now.

Reality job if I didn't care about making any money and I was single= Cowboy in Northern Nv, Wyoming or Montana. Riding the range all day and living a simple life.

Anybody else not really know?

I like what I do now(Commercial Superintendent), but it’s not my life’s ambition. If I make it to retirement I’d love to volunteer for the National Park Service and bounce from park to park for a couple years.

No such thing.....

Now if you ask me what would make me happy is never having to work for someone or punch a clock. Couple acres with a big shop out back.

I love working on cars , I love wood working and I would love to learn metal fabrication.

Basically I just want to Design, Build and create cool shit.....With that said I don't think I would want that as my job it's hard work and I can make more $$$ sitting behind a desk talking on the phone.

You're dream job/career/ business what would it be?

Dream Job - Seriously WTF ??? I have a lot of dreams, but working day in & day out is more like a slavery nightmare than a wet dream. You obviously need to find some more hobbies, lol. Working is Over Rated!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds a lot like welfare lol:D

I think all of us agree that working a job you don't love is just that....work. but we all have a basic need to feel successful at what we do. Hopefully we each can find something we are passionate about that pays well. Still looking for mine though

I've been thinking about this lately and wondering where my passion would have taken me if I could do it all over again. I like accounting and numbers so maybe something in finance. Come to think of it, the wolf of wall street has a nice ring to it..
Go count them beans Shanetoooo....:D

If I ever make enough to retire without worry and can keep my medical, I’m going to buy a new Phenom 300 and fly kids with cancer and limited resources to their treatments at the best cancer facilities in the nation.

Until then, just the same old shit. Cab, plane, strange office in some foreign country, work, cab, plane, home office, more work, home.

We all have dreams, without them there is no purpose.

I’ve done sales for most of my life and would love to move into a job where I was paid a wage for skilled labor at something I was good at, where I could just show up and do what I need to do.

I know guys who pour concrete slabs for instance, once he’s got the contract he just shows up and does what he knows how to do well.

My brother does paint less dent removal, gets a contract after a hail storm and shows up, fixes all the dents and goes home. He’s basically got the control of working as hard as he wants to get his skilled labor done with no corporate bs on the other side. That’s what I’m envious of.

Rant over

This thread keeps bringing back as there is so much I would have liked to try but too old now.

One job I think would be super cool would to work on someone's private yacht if I was single and younger. I mean one of those super crazy ones like you see in Monaco or Miami/Ft Lauderdale. When we were in Ft. Lauderdale last time we chatted with two young gals that were working on some insane yacht. They have been all over the world to every exotic place you can name. What was cool is they would actually meet up with other young folks that worked on other yachts. They all kept in touch and said it was a pretty tight knit community where they all knew eachother from other jobs. Pretty cool

Probably completely crazy for thinking this, but if I was younger I would like to try one of the other branches of the military (other than the Army I was in) and try to get in to one of their special forces like SEALS or MARSOC.

Truly though, my life has been so grand. I have done so much and been so many places and if it was changes whatsoever I wouldn't have met my amazing spouse.

Dream job?
Any type of moto racing. Always felt like I was a fast learner and pretty fearless behind the bars or behind the wheel. Ive tried everything from BMX, Speedway Karts, Sprint Karts, Shifter Karts, Hair Scrambles on the CR, couple of short course, ice racing and desert races on the wifes quad. Always did/do ok but always worked in highschool, started my current career the day after graduation and had no time for the race life/dream.

Had many teachers, friends and friends parents tell me as a teenager I had the perfect voice to do radio, narrating, broadcasting.
Always wished I could have gotten over my fears of public speaking and how crazy my voice sounded to me when I heard it and given it a shot.
