Boating has gotten ridiculously expensive. The entry level thread gave me this idea for posting.
My suggestion is really for those that have a place to build a custom boat……. On the cheap.
First……. Rather than try to compete with the go-fast crowd, build something one of a kind, and it will become a conversation piece. So the following pics I found on the internet. The pics I found are still not nearly as cool as the builds I have seen first hand. But it will give you an idea of where to start.
The hulls represented in the pics below are available right now at Coopers Auction, starting at $2500, minimum bid.
So let me introduce you to The Hurricane Fundeck………… Modified! Lol
They certainly don’t look like the deck boats, in which these hulls originated. All that stuff has to be removed, then converted to center console.
Here is what I would do…..
Buy hull
remove everything
paint hull sea foam green with white
ad prefab center console with built in forward seating
add prefab double seat, with base. You could ad 2nd row of double seats, giving 6 forward facing seats.
add prefab T-Top
Tan Sea Deck entire boat
buy new Merc 225
Ad Jack plate
ad trim tabls
ad double power pole (this is your power anchor and easy button) single will work too. I just like this item. One push and your are anchored. Push again…to leave. It’s that easy.
I personally wouldn’t ad any rails.
You would now own a boat that gets excellent gas mileage and will draft in less than a foot of water. Let your imagination be your guide. But the most expensive item is the motor, which you could buy used too.
