Idaho bound!

Leaving for our yearly trip to St Anthony's. Going to be hot at the dunes, but we will hit the mountains and float the river. I'll try to remember to take some pics this year.

Got to start out clean.

Top off with some Costco diesel.

Whoa. $3.15 diesel! I filled my fuel drum in my trailer with diesel on the way back home to CA and put 45 gallons of $3.65 diesel into my moho when I got home. That may be the cheapest fuel you see the whole trip. We saw $3.25 somewhere south of Salt Lake in early June.

Do you stop along the way to break up the trip?

We might stop in Sandy, but I usually iron man it so I don’t lose a day. I made it 13 hrs last year from Phoenix.
I got my open roads fuel card so I stop at trucks stops and get a little discount.

This year yes. Last couple of years it’s been good with a little rain.

We typically go around labor day for a wek, it's been in the low 80s during the day. Hot enough to hang out by the lake for one of the days.
2 years ago (we go every other year) we had a pretty good rain storm come through.

You have no idea how funny that sounds to a Northwesterner.

Of course, I’m just as amazed when in Alaska during summer. There’s nothing like going into a bar, coming out a few hours later, and realizing you’ve missed the night.

For those that haven't been yet...

If you don't like the weather, just wait 15 min! It can go from hot to hail in no time at all!

We went out for a quick ride before dinner one night. A few minutes into it, it started to hail, and blow so hard, the hail was coming at us sideways!

We HAD a stop and hide next to our quads and warm our hands on the exhaust. We were in shorts and T-shirts, and it was Fucking freezing!!!

A few minutes later?

Storm is over and the sand is PERFECTLY FLAT!!! And we are over by Choke Cherry, all by ourselves.

So we keep going. All the way to Devils Bowl and then 5th gear, flat out, all the way back to camp, with not even a ripple in the sand.

Most EPIC ride of my life.

Totally worth the ass chewing we got from the girls when we rode in the Completely destroyed by camp!

Even their screaming at us, couldn't wipe the smiles off our faces. (Yeah, we had been gone for awhile)

Avg probably around 70. My cc only sets as high as 75 and I don’t really have a reason to go that fast. I just only stop for fuel and that is only twice.

The view of the starts must have been Amazing in the dunes at night.

Yeah Choke Cherry is a big hill. I don’t run it to the top because I don’t have a tranny pump.

The people at the bottom look like ants. It's a tiny bit intimidating at first!

So Mike that owns the RV park throws one hell of a fund raising party Saturday night after the races. This year they raised around $35,000. I’ll have to get some pictures from the party from someone else, I forgot to take some.

Sunday we took the side by sides to Island Park for lunch. We ended up at 125 miles total.

Monday we went duning in the morning, than just hung out the rest of the day, kind of needed a liver reset.
Today we went back to Island Park and rented pontoon boats, was fun until the rain started. Once again don’t have many pictures.
