Ice Surge

I had never heard of or seen an ice surge before but it is happening north of us. It hasn't happened on our lake yet but I'll bet it will because the water flow is starting to ramp and the ice is still extremely thick. Weird.

That is some serious power. Never seen anything like that before and we watch a bunch of Discovery and Science channels. They have never done any kind of special on this.

...I live on the Kancamagus River in NH.. Couple times a year we get the Ice explosions and the raging ice floes.. It is a sight & sound extravaganza..:thumbsup Took the entry bridge out at Loon Mtn 2 years ago...:eek
