Why didn’t they arrest the little fuck for threatening the police with death?
Technicality problem. He didn’t say he’d do it. Just that the people who live in the neighborhood would. I found myself wishing somebody would follow him home and take care of the problem. You know, just a real good beat-down.

Who, in their right mind, would choose to live in Portland or Seattle?

So I live and operate business nearly halfway between Seattle and Portland and I am also in the capitol city of the state. That said it is a very strange area concerning politics and lifestyle choices.
We have lots of small towns that are all Trump supporters with regular working class people unfortunately King county( Seattle) dominates every fkn election. If it wasnt for that county you would see more republican candidates in winning positions. For some reason 50 years ago the message given around here was “republicans will cut every tree down if voted in” the message worked and it is still in play today. Thanks to a bunch of pussified leaders/council members we gave all the criminals and want to be criminals MANY paths to avoid jail and keep on being absolute dangers to society. So now we have a state that is leading the statistics in crime on many levels. How we went from loggers/ ship builders/airplane fabrication to moss covered pussies is beyond me ? With our lack of drug laws and sanctuary laws we have become the place to have a awesome overdose 2-5 times a week knowing the medics and narcan will save the day.
I am at a loss as to where I want to retire as I cant seem to not follow the news. I love my state and we have things no one else has . We are finally starting to see the shift as the outlying cities can no longer afford the bad decision making and are changing the approach . Watching San Francisco go down has opened up some of our leaders eyes but it’s debatable if that brings change. Bottom line is king county sucks and pulls us down daily.

Boy, do I feel your pain. At least I am on the "right" side of the state. I absolutely love where I live and work, but things are definitely changing and not for the better. The problem is and always has been that the people have been brainwashed to believe that corporations are bad and must be heavily taxed. Also bad are people who have managed to be somewhat successful in life. Maybe they own a home or a business. Both of which are heavily taxed in this state. King county voters just approved a $1.35 billion dollar transportation tax dressed up as a "safety" tax. It is actually a levy but that is just another fancy word for a tax. Guess who has to pay for it? Homeowners. The average homeowner will see their tax increase almost $600 per year. What I do see that is good is major corporations leaving Seattle and the state entirely as they are fed up with the taxes. Sucks that that damn crook Bob Ferguson got voted in as the next governor. He has sued more small businesses then anyone I can think of. Moral of the story is move to Idaho!!

Oh, but it’s all good. Ferguson says as governor he’s going to protect us from that evil Trump.

It wasn't a pleasant place long ago either.
In my mid-teens(1977ish) my family was traveling through Seattle. Typical site seeing stuff, space needle, etc. Not once, not twice but three times in a single day locals said nasty shit to us, told us to leave & go home.
I've since never had any desire to visit & spend time/money there. Closest I've been is switching planes at SeaTac.....once.
A buddy worked at Boeing mid 90s as a design/engineer. Barely made it a year, couldn't wait to gtfo.

I really like the Bellevue and surrounding areas, I used to go snowboard a lot in PNW and I always like the suburbs around Seattle. Lots of conservative Russians live up there and I knew many from a church up there. I'd much rather spend time there than in LA, but then again this was 7-10 years ago, I wonder if it's that much worse now :(

I heard is starting back on the right track again thankfully, in Portland at least. That's one city I never liked though, too hippy and weird.
