FWIW……….. I have considered walking away from this site. Just saying. In fact, it was actually my New Years Resolution, when I got back from Australia. I am still on the fence about this. Still thinking of the pros and cons. I may never boat Havasu/Parker again, so why be part of a site that is geared towards these places that I am not going back too. I have moved on.

I recently followed the build of a “mud boat” on another Boatimg site. It reminded me of what a narrow scope of boating, that is the main theme of this site. I am guessing 80% of you have no idea of what a mud boat is. So I decided not to share this unbelievable, big block, high horsepower, one-off build. You guys would have ripped it apart, and never seen the craftsmanship. Just saying

I am still pissed off to be called a shitty boat captain because my boatlift broke. What a class act…….. Its only your guys loss, I stopped posting that type of content, because of it.

I don’t believe I have over posted in the political thread or even looked at it. I actually feel sorry for those that live down there, under the bridge. Maybe one day they will reclaim their lives, once they realize whatever is going to happen, will happen, regardless if they are following or not. What a miserable hobby.

@RiverDave the only way to get politics out of the lounge is to actually hold members accountable for not following the rules. Its seems like every thread I read turns political which turns me off.

I remember the good old days here when the topics where boating and off roading and positive ( of course we all like the banter a bit) , those days are long gone, which is why I try not to come on here much, and when I do shit always goes south in thread which tends to drive me away.

I fear this site is too far go to go back to where it was, unless of course accountability is upheld.

I simply pointed out that as a captain, inspecting your equipment and maintaining it is at the top of the priority list....and based on the level of corrosion I saw in the pictures you posted, that didn't happen with the boat lift...

I don't think so. The demographic attracted to boating are exactly the opposite (for the most part) of the demographic that needs safe spaces and wears vagina hats and blocks traffic to make their point. We are a group of people who would like to be left alone by this other type and would much rather things go on in a "normal" manner....I've been that way since I can remember, and everyone I associate with has been the same.

We are all getting older, and with that comes more experience....and experience comes from fucking up and learning from it...School of hard knocks, some call it. There is more wisdom and answers posted in this forum than most other single places on the interweb.....from how to fix things to product reviews....by people that have experienced it and learned from it.

Some are more diplomatic than others....as folks age, they tend to be a bit more blunt....or at least that's what my experience has shown. Some adapt to this on the receiving end as well, some don't.

There is some truth in your comment. But if one does not agree with what's posted get some facts and counter. 530 is all over the place actually countering his own posts from one week to the next. This makes him a great target to make fun of.

The politics forum goes against the legacy media. They have not been truthful for years. It's fun to poke them.

I agree. If RDP doesn’t change it will be none Relevant in 10 years. Maybe less. If we are speaking in the grand outlook of boating it’s already none relevant because 90 percent of the content does not apply to the average boater. Nothing wakes boarding related or run about boating related. Nothing fishing etc.
