I don’t need anymore projects, I don’t need anymore projects I DON’T NEED ANYMORE PROJECTS!

But my wife really wanted it. Price was right, estate sale. Executer was happy to not have any hassles cash buyer. Purrs like a kitten, the canvas top looks like it was installed last week, tires are fresh. Owner was an anal retentive guy and a master mechanic. The entire dash has been replaced I just need to keep it in a garage which I need to move my RV or nowt out of the driveway. Only issue is that the pop up lights need to be fixed

Any chance this came out of Camarillo? Some friends of mine just bought a house there that came with a C4 Corvette in the garage

Good luck!! Had an 87 from Carroll Super Charging Company. CA didn’t like it and I got it for a deal. Ended up giving it away because I had had enough. It was in 2020 and only had 30k miles on it. Was hoping it woudl be worth something at some point but that was a big nope!!! LOL

Well, the one I got is bone stock. Hopefully I have better luck than you did.

When it comes to regular cars, I’m a huge fan of leaving it the fuck alone. Off road is a different story. My air cooled VW sand car makes more HP to the wheels than this thing makes at the crank LOL

My neighbor at the shop brother just bought a house and there was a zr1 corvette in the garage that was part of the package. Haven’t seen it or know anything about it.

Well, what I got was not a ZR1, not even close, but it is a great looking iconic car.

We‘ve decided that we are going to cut down some palm trees and widen the driveway to make room for the Vette getting in and out of the garage, or so I am told.

Vacuum operated headlights? Could be an easy fix.

Everyone should own a corvette for a year or two.
Just pick a year and have fun.
… The only Vette I have ever owned was a ‘59… It had a 327 in it with headers… Was a Borg Warner T10 four speed???… It was fun for a minute… It now lives in Japan🤷🏽‍♀️

That looks like a 1990. I had one for a few years and had a blast beating on it.

Wife is taking it on a road trip to San Diego friday with her brother for a funeral. She wanted navigation, I tried a Bluetooth cassette adapter but the tape player is 35 years old and didn’t work. Those old 1.5 DIN GM openings are a real PITA. Either you get a DIN device and ugly fillers or something custom. In another lifetime, I was a fairly accomplished car stereo installer, I choose the latter

Found this “smaller” face radio

Crutchfild says it wouldn’t fit my car.

Seems like it can fit

to fit this radio in the factory bracket has to be cut to allow the radio to drop down a bit. I spent extra time to make it a snug fit. You could probably cut it in 3 minutes with an wire saw but I’m leaving it so the factory radio can be restored.

Took some doing but I left enough of the factory housing that the factory radio will go right back in

I know my cuts look like crap but they are completely hidden and I did them all with these two drmail bits. I’m happy with it

To be continued……….

The radio fit snug enough that I didn’t even need any sort of brackets, that said in a wreck, I don’t want it flying all over the place. I just phoned it in with metal plumbers tape

Turns out the backup camera was more work than fitting the stereo.

used the antenna cable grommet to get through the rear firewall

Getting past the fuel tank was a real treat, used a fiberglass rod from the gas filler
